Can We Talk about Taylor?

The Right isn’t ā€œtriggeredā€ by Taylor Swift, they just don’t care. Conservatives aren’t losing sleep over a pop star with choreographed politics and carefully scripted activism. She’s an entertainer, not a policymaker, and her influence exists mostly in the echo chamber of celebrity culture that the Left takes far too seriously.

Our focus is on foreign policy, border security, government overreach, and protecting constitutional freedoms, not on what Taylor Swift says between stadium tours. If anything, the obsession the Left has with elevating her as some kind of political oracle only proves how shallow their cultural priorities are.

So celebrities aren't allowed to have opinions on politics? Only arbitrary internet posters are allowed - got it.

I'm somewhat bemused by the title of this thread. I need not point out that this forum is called "Politics Board". I don't believe any poster in this forum who voted in the 2024 election whose vote was influenced by the fact that Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris. Mind you it is interesting to note that Ms Swift’s stated rationale for favoring Harris is that former VP supported trans rights. Most political pundits on both sides agreed that one of the most effective ads that benefited Trump was the one with slogan: "Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you"

Trump did. Probably because he fits that description himself and knows its power.

N.B.: Celebrities do not really think their musical, athletic or acting ability makes them qualified for political analysis.

What celebrities think is that people will listen to them.

And they're right. If millions who will never meet you are going to take an interest in your sex life, they will also take an interest in your politics, if you have any.
