Can we access our past chats?

This might be a silly question and i'm sure this has been asked but i promise i searched for this (using several phrases) before posting.

Is there a log or archive of all the PMs from chat, and can we access to our own? i'm sure it would require a lot of data but i thought it would be fun to re-read the past.
