I feel so silly asking, but I really haven't a clue. I would be most greatful if someone could help me. It is probably so easy, I am going to feel most embarrassed after. Oh well, such is life. Thanks alot, Katerina :)

If this is what you are talking about all you have to do is click on the forth of the four (if the are registered or the 2nd of the two if they are not) little notepad looking thingy right above their post and it will take you from there.... you know, where their email, profile, all that stuff is, the 4th thing should be "reply with quote"

hope that was what you were looking for and that it helped?

okay, I gotta kick my ass to work!!! ;)

Luv
~Jade

...or you could just click the icon with the red arrow coming out of it, that's the one Jade's talking about...hehehe

Havoc

once you click on that icon with the arrow at the top of the post you want to quote, you'll be able to see the quote and boldface UBB tag format. They are 'pair tags' meaning that there is a similar one with a backslash that tells the BB where the end of the quote or boldface is.

You can edit to delete everything except the point you want to quote, or to break the quote into separate blocks to reply point by point.

For more information on IBB code, click on the line to the left of the text entry boc that says 'UBB Code is ON.' It will open a new window with a list of all the things you can do with UBB code, including the part of the secret to 'bonking smiles'

Thank-you guys, you're all terrific. I will try it out next time for sure. Hopefully, I can figure it out, by all the good info you have provided me. God, will I ever be able to post something without having to re-edit? Hmmmm, probably not. Hugs abunch, Katerina :)

The closing half of the tag pair has to be there for it to work. If they're paired right, they don't show up, but when they're mismatched, they show up as regular text.

Don't be discouraged, It's a fairly easy concept, but you're dealing with a computer here, and it's stupid. If you don't spoon feed it commands in exactly the right format with exactly the right spelling and exactly ther right place, you get the digital equivalent of "HUH?"
