Can someone explain to me why the Democrats are saying they need to expand voting rights?

 Either you got the most votes ever (lol) or your voters are suppressed, which is it Democrats?

They don't say they need to expand rights.

Ideally, every citizen who is eligible should vote. Even where personal choice is given paramount privilege, they most certainly should be accorded a convenient method to doing so. There are countries (e.g., Australia) that requires it of every eligible citizen. So, if that isn't provided--and people like the OP are trying not to provide it in order to maintain minority control--voting rights should be expanded to where it is provided.

Who does the OP think he's fooling?

Well, bluntly put, they got most voters ever, under rather atypical circumstances. Now they want to codify those same circumstances as new normal under assumption those circumstances were helpful to them.

They have already whined that alternative would be lots of expensive hard work, because the opposition obviously think the same and are doing all they can to pull the blanket in exact opposite direction.

Debate on the bill starts today. The outcome is pre-determined. If Schumer wants to burn a week chasing a lost cause, I say let the man have his way. The Senate typically is in session 135 to 195 days a year. Take as many days as you want Chuck.

Because certain groups have as practice denied and made it harder for others to vote. You want to blame someone. Blame the bigots and KKK. Wouldn’t need this mess if they didn’t try to stop equal voting rights.

They just want to take a position that sounds noble and then use public support to push bad legislation. The other side is objecting to the legislation and that makes them look like they are opposing the noble sounding goal.

Since people don't actually dig into the nuance of things anymore, this is a good way for one side to look discriminatory, or racist or unreasonable.

If it was bad legislation, the Republicans would be glad to debate it in the chamber. So far, they have refused.

who has been denied

how?

The 94 Biden Crime Bill disenfranchised thousands upon thousands of young black men.

I don't know why he hates black people so much.

JFC

SAD!

All non Caucasian ethic groups. At first they just threatened voters. Once that was outlawed and actually enforced polling locations in ethnic heavy areas were cut down. Now in those areas there is 1 location for every 300-500 persons registered. Making it so the lines are long and people don’t get in before the timed deadline. It’s an ongoing issue that has existed since minorities gained the right to vote. It’s just never been addressed. Again, it’s not a new issue. It’s akin to redlining. Much like racism in the country, it has just been ignored. Like any issue, if ignored, it has finally bubbled over. There is this mass call that there is not an issue and the status quo should be followed. Which is to do everything possible to silence the voices of the many. Cuz here is an interesting fact. If you add all the minority groups together they number twice that of the so called majority. You can check the census for the numbers.
There are rules in place in many states that make it hard to register, vote or even have your vote counted. These new laws seek to fix these issues. It’s been in the new for years and one would have to stick their head in a hole to have not seen stories about it. I just happen to live it as one of the so called minority.

There are other groups as well, like students, military and the homeless, who have difficulty with residency requirements.

Instead of heading into the fall elections with yet another humiliating defeat, Democrats could score an easy bipartisan win with a piece of election reform legislation that has plenty of GOP support. Fixing the Electoral Count Act is a no-brainer. A handful of pragmatic Dems in Congress recognize the opportunity to pass what would be common sense bill that would have broad public support. Not surprisingly, the extreme wing of their party and the tired and confused president lack the interest and energy to act on it. And so the Dems slow death march to November continues.

The goal is to use smoke and mirrors to create as many ballots mailed out as possible.

To mail a ballot to every registered voter verified or not.

Then create as many extras as possible, like students, military and the homeless, who have difficulty with residency requirements.

Then they go out and find those who do not intend to vote and mail their ballot for them.

All the extras like students, military and the homeless, who have difficulty with residency requirements can be collected before they are even sent out.

It worked for the 2020 election. In the name of covid they mailed ballots and voted on everyone collected er I mean harvested. That is why there were more votes than ever before. Trump won hugely and they created exactly the number of votes to overturn the election.

It was not a close race or oBiden miracle, it was a Trump landslide. The bill is simply to set in stone they get to pick instead of having an election.

They mailed ballots out in states that had the laws to do so. Colorado, for instance.

Biden won with the votes indicated. Believing that votes were improper or illegal is nice, but belief isn't proof.
