She was the ambassador to the UN, she has more FP experience than the rest of the field combined. She doesn’t have foreign policy experience and the reality is that Middle Eastern countries don’t respect women. If we weren’t on the brink of a possible war then less experienced people, like a community manager, could become President and learn on the job. I’d rather have a President who can keep us safe right now.
Next election cycle, both her and DeSantis should run again, but if she wins now, I’ll support her.
Not to downplay Ambassadors, but their primary goal is to talk and smooth over relations. When another country wants to kill us or Israel, more than talking is needed. She was the ambassador to the UN, she has more FP experience than the rest of the field combined.
And monkees could fly out of my butt. Dream on.There's always a chance Haley will snatch the nomination. That this is all new, different, and wild with the Trump effect and that he might be snuffed somehow in the process is why Haley, DeSantis, etc. are going the traditional route. And, in fact, it's all so wild that Trump may somehow be snuffed before the nomination period is over.
If some disgruntled someone pops Trump off tomorrow--and there are a whole lot of disgruntled and crazy people in the Trump mix--he won't be getting the Republican nomination. If you don't think that can happen in American politics, you have zero historical knowledge of American politics. And monkees could fly out of my butt. Dream on.
You are right. If something happens to Trump, he won’t get the nomination. Not even the GOP would nominate a corpse Barring that, the nomination is his.If some disgruntled someone pops Trump off tomorrow--and there are a whole lot of disgruntled and crazy people in the Trump mix--he won't be getting the Republican nomination. If you don't think that can happen in American politics, you have zero historical knowledge of American politics.
A criminal conviction would only help Trump solidify the nomination. But it is extremely unlikely he will we tried before the primaries are over. Probably not until the election is over.Well, the question was whether Haley could actually get the nomination, and the answer is, yes, there are circumstances in which she can. The assassination scenario is historically real. In the current circumstance, a court criminal conviction could conceivably upset Trump's apple cart too. We don't know, but we can't absolutely say it wouldn't happen. We're in a "stay tuned" situation, and the Republicans going through the traditional nomination process are doing so on a contingency.
I don't, as many commentators are saying, believe they are auditioning for the vice president slot. I think Trump would/will pick someone else entirely different from those on the Republican debate stage.
No one can say what the actual effect of conviction would mean. Nothing like this has been in play before. Logically, it will solidify his base, yes (although the blush is coming off that peach. His rally crowds are smaller and less rabid; he's exhausting them with being him). Logically, it won't get him new support from somewhere else, though. And his base isn't big enough to pull an ultimate win. This talk about all of his troubles making him stronger could just be Republican talking points. Nothing like this has happened before. We'll have to see. That he'll deflate like a pin jabbing a balloon for some reason down the line is as likely as any other scenario--except in the playbook of the Republican propaganda machine--and in the minds of those easily influenced by political propaganda.A criminal conviction would only help Trump solidify the nomination.
She did a horrible job there, rarely if ever winning a single convert to Trump's corner on any issue (and on at least one occasion, one of her initiatives got exactly one vote: her own). I couldn't care less about her gender, but her "experience" would not make her a suitable leader in foreign policy. She was the ambassador to the UN, she has more FP experience than the rest of the field combined.
They only warm chairs when they show up.It’s ok to downplay them. Since instantaneous communications were developed it’s mostly a joke job.
They’re certainly not making any decisions or wielding any authority. They don’t even get blamed when things go wrong… because they’re just chair warmers.
I don't see why it would when she has always gone by Nikki since she's been a public figure.Incidentally, when I typed “Nimrata” into Google, it didn’t even offer her as an option until I started on her last name.
WHY? Why man? It’s her real name. It’s unusual. Those are pretty good reasons.
But if taking whatever you’re fed by the media, without thinking or questioning is your thing… I get it.
Trump stood as a Democratic candidate but found that he had zero chance. So he stood as an Independent before realizing that the Republicans were suitable marks. He did the math, added up the religious right and the rednecks and poorly educated. That's why he hated McCain, a real war hero who was shot down over enemy territory while Trump was being a brave little soldier asking the doctors for STD treatments.John McCain was one of the most hated Republicans - hated BY Republicans, that is. He was known as the guy who was most likely to switch sides when the vote was close and it was something R's cared about. He was such a bad fit for Republicans that he openly flirted with switching parties and making it official.
And a year or two later... he's the nominee because, "He's the one that can win!"
So yeah, anything is possible. People are stupid and have short memories.
At least Christie has a plan. Be the anti-Trump. Haley’s only hope is that something happens to Trump. It's interesting to see her rise above Florida's "Golden Boy."
It could at least get interesting in the weeks ahead.
Christie needs to drop something...,
... out or weight.
Or both.
At best, voting for a 3rd party is wasting your vote. At worst, you are helping a bad candidate win.I intend to vote for the indie candidate, but I still have the option of voting for someone else in the primary, if anyone looks interesting enough to go to the polling location. I may start researching candidates in the month of the primary. Doing earlier research would be a waste of time if someone dies later.
