Can a Teenage birth be acknowledged but not described?

The main female character in my story had a son in high school (under 18), There is NO description (of sex) other than he was born to her when she was a teen, son is now in Hight school I just want to establish she is a young parent.

I was thinking of giving her age and the son's age and let the reader do the math

Yes, a non-sexual reference to a teenage mother is fine.
