I laugh and continue to get ready and I'm soon ready, wearing tight, barely there shorts and a cut off football jersey I had, my hair done up in a classic cheerleader ponytail.

"Whoa, you look hot," I say as you bound down the stairs. "We may need an extra long dinner break at the bar," I smile.

"I think I can probably arrange for it," I laugh. "Wear the red lipstick you have," I say, revealing my ideas for our break.

"Oh, I'm sure I can," I purr with a laugh. "Let's go, I got tables to turn and a manager to fuck in his office."

I slap your butt. "Better not be talking about Don," I say as I hold the door for you. The day and afternoon shifts go without a hitch until Kaylee and Riley get into a spat over some manager/head hostess turf war. I spend an hour sorting it out and, exasperated, send them both home for the evening. I retreat to my office to find some tylenol and think about what to do.

Since you sent Riley and Kaylee home, I continue to work until I can catch a break and go into your office. "Hey, love," I say, coming over and pecking your cheek, leaving a kiss mark. "You doing alright?"

"Yeah," I say. "Can you believe those two?" I ask. "It is always something. How are things out there? Slowing down at all? These kids should be exhausted after three nights of this shit."

"I was just able to escape," I confess. "It's almost a madhouse right now, there's only three of us doing hostess." I squeeze you. "We're all tired."

"Yeah, I'll bet," I say, squeezing you back. "I don't want you overdoing it," I nearly lecture you. "You need to stay relaxed as much as possible."

"Well, that's what I feel like, his eyes are constantly on me. Not in a 'God, I want to fuck her' way, more of a big brother taking care of little sister way. It's strange."

"Well, I know he and Stacie are fond of you like that, and I know Don feels bad about," I pause to tread very carefully, "about what happened here."

I nod. "Yeah, I know," I say quietly. "I still avoid seats over there, actually. I just. . . can't bring myself to go over there, even after all this time. Riley understands, but Kaylee. . . she tries to push me to go over there." I sigh and run my hand through my ponytail. "It's alright, though, it's a lot better than it was."

"Are you okay right now?" I ask, wanting to get you and the baby out of here at the slightest indication of any anxiety you might have.

"I'm a little tired, but that's to be expected," I tell you honestly. I rest my chin on your shoulder. "I still get nervous, my therapist says that'll happen for a while." I sigh happily.
