I grin And kiss you again. "Be right back," I leave and come back with the compress you requested. "I love you," I say, as if it would make your discomfort any better. "I still think your sexy," I say, as if you have any desire to have anymore weight pressing on you.

"Riley has been asking about you a lot," I tell you. "I think she's excited. And maybe a BIT jealous," I smile.

I race downstairs and call 911 and then come back upstairs while Don is on the phone. I grab your hand. "Baby, what do you need," I ask. I turn into the phone, "No, she is in bed still."

"Hey Don, she wants you to tell......yeah....ok, we will see you there." I get off the phone. "They are going to meet us at the hospital." I pace around. "Are you ok?" I ask. "Where is the ambulance?!"

When I'm not in pain, I smile indulgently at toy. "Reece, relax," I say finally, catching your arm, smiling before wincing. "I can hear them now. . . "

The paramedics arrive and I let them in, which is the las thing I know what to do, I hold your hand as they take vital signs and ultimately load you in an ambulance, where I ride with you. We get to the hospital and the staff hand you some forms. One of them asks who I am. "Um, I'm the father," I say. They ask if I am your husband, and I explain that we are engaged.

"You will have to wait out here, sir," she says. My heart begins to shatter.

I look at you and gasp loudly, in pain. "Please. . . Let him back. . . . " I whisper. "Fiancé. . . Daddy. . . Reece. . . ."

The lady tells you she is sorry, and they begin to wheel you away from me. You see me crying and I refuse to let go of your hand. "The baby has to come out," a nurse tells you. "You have to let go, or you are jeopardizing your child."

"Lynn, I'm sorry," I say, still not letting go, still not wanting to make that decision.

"Wait. . .ask for a place where you can watch. . . Please nurse. . . " I'm crying too, both from pain and fear.

A doctor steps forward and talks to you, grabbing your other hand. "How are you doing, young lady?" He asks, making sure you focus on him and nothing else. "Is this handsome guy going to be the daddy?"

I nod and smile. "Yes, he is," I say. "Please. . . Can he watch?" I ask him, looking up at him. "He's worried. . . "

The doctor nods. "Let him in," he tells the nurse. "I want you to breathe, you're going to be just fine," he tells you, patting your stomach. "Are we having a little boy or little girl?" He asks. I look at you, having no idea.

I kiss your forehead as I have done so many times, as the staff begins wheeling you back. A couple hours later, they hand you a shiny baby boy, swaddled in a blue blanket, looking very peaceful and sleepy, with his dad's nose and his mommy's beautiful, blonde hair. I curl up beside you, unable to keep my eyes dry. "I love you both so much," I whisper, kissing your neck. "You did good, college girl," I whisper again.

I smile sleepily and kiss baby Reece's head. "Same to you, bar not," I say, leaning back and holding the baby.

I kiss your forehead again, and am told you and the baby will be checked into a room. A while later, I show up with flowers, some ginormous balloons, and Don and Stacie. Stacie squeals as she sees you, and goes immediately to hold the baby. "How are you feeling?" I ask. "Ready to start on number two?" I wink.
