Calling All Lit Subs!

hmmm are you sayin if a thread you started backfires or gets hijacked you can actually have it removed? :) learn something new every day at lit.

Ah, I see. I suppose that it may not be. If it's not an option I feel it should be. Can a story be pulled by it's writer? If a story can be pulled why can't a thread?

i think if victoria would have taken my advice at her first post here it probably would be done...but other peoples words and opinions are now posted here also

Not in the least does it help. Your right you don't take orders from me. It also seems you don't want to be part of a solution, just a continued part of a problem. Sorry to have taken your time.

Sheeesh, guess I should follow your example and start telling everyone to f****** do this, f******do that...that would solve the world's issues with subbie headaches now wouldn't it just?!! Oh sorry, I forgot, your posting is OK and not continuing anything, the rest of us have to shut up, right?!!

The thread starter has not asked it to be deleted, but the general rule of Lit is a thread is not owned by the thread starter and as such is there for everyone...it then becomes an issue of removing the words of people who might not want their words removed. A story OTOH is written by one (maybe 2-3 people) and it is up to them to decide if they want it to remain as it affects no-one else in the realm of free speech if it is remcved by them.

I did pm you to lock it and you said it couldn't be. Then just delete the damn thing. I have also pm'd laurel since you won't do your job and only want to be a part of the problem.

My apologies for intruding on your personal fiefdom Cat. I will go back to the area with a reasonable moderator. You were PMed by the thread's originator with an appeal to delete the thread but it seems you wish to continue with it. Forgive me oh Baron? Or is it Duke?

This thread has passed what the originator had meant for it and turned into an arguement. An arguement I might add that has nothing to do with the thread's purpose. There have been hurt feelings and misunderstandings here. I had thought a moderator's purpose was to keep the peace in a forum not to fan the flames of them. Or am I wrong on what the duties of a Moderator are? This thread has turned into nothing but an opportunity to heckle and jeer at an idea that may or may not have been well thought out. But what do I know, I am just a foul mouthed poster, not an all wise moderator.

I am doing my job and as I told you we do not lock threads, especially because someone does not get the response they expected. You never asked it to be deleted and as I explained, other people also have a stake in a thread which has been contributed to and it is not normal for one person to choose to silence their voices because they didn't get their own way.

You were the one who suggested outing people and naming names, dont' make it worse by abusing me and others and perhaps you had better stop PMing people repeatedly as I have been having complaints about from more than one person as that is seen by Lit as grounds to ban you from the site.

It will die on its own. What's next? a fucking lawsuit? Drama Queens.

You have been given mis-information if that is what she told you...which only seems to verify the wisdom of not supporting this person outing people and naming names according to what they say happened. Perhaps you are unaware of the policy of Lit about free speech and what constitutes deleting a thread...basically SPAM is it. You will find it all in the forum and site rules. Perhaps I should live up to what a moderator can do and pass on how many people have told me they have been getting more than one PM from Vic about this thread, and not the nice kind.

Victoria, let it go. There's room enough on Lit for all of us. Just let it go and we'll leave this particular barony and post in other areas of the site. If the people that wish to maintain a grudge wish they can follow and heckle. Just either put them on ignore or go through proper complaint channels.

Dang, for a second there this thread was moving as fast as some in the GB...I was so excited I got an inflatable pool and some jello...I guess I was too late

To any and all:

I'm sorry that this thread has taken on the face it has - this was never my intent for it. I apologize to any and all. I was upset - I am still - but I realize that both pov's hold valid merit.

While it was originally stated that names be named - I do not think it would be prudent to do so - but maybe just listing certain similarities would have sufficed. I don't know - I may never know.

I know now that letting one's anger take hold and blind one to the big picture is not prudent either. I have learned a lesson by letting my anger get to me in this way.

Once again - for what it means - I apologize.

Thank you and good night.

I won't do it. Join her 'club', that is. Believe me, I know of a person on this board who has four restraining orders on him, just from people on this board. I inform any subs who get too close to him of what happened. That's the right way to do it. This 'join our club, and you can have protection for the big bad dom' stuff is . . . . silly. As someone (either RJ or DVS) pointed out, if someone is a predator or even just a jerk, and they realized everyone's on to them, they'll just create an alt. Then we won't know where they are or who they're targeting.

If all people are looking for is a place to complain about someone jade has a bitch thread, just for that kind of thing. Their's also the worst pm's thread, the asshat thread . . . and several others. (I'm not going to list them all.)

Ok...The point of this thread completely aside... Not that a hijack seems too uncommon here...

Am I the only one that sees a problem with the above statement???
Not the person...Not the way it is said..But just the simple, and complete fuckedness of the facts involved....

Personally I might suggest, that with a board of this type, a person who has managed to accumulate multiple restraining orders from other members of the board........
That it might be sneaking up on the point of asking this person to manifest their "right of free speech" somewhere else on the web?

All this may fall into the realm of personal opinion but, assuming (and no offense to gracie intended) that this is correct.. Yeah... I kinda do see a problem in the continued presence of someone like that..

Can't. First off, lets say they did. He could invent an alt, come back, and then we wouldn't know who he was. I prefer to know where the bee is in the room. Two, they don't want a fuss - they're embarrassed. So I don't, and neither does anyone else who knows. But I still watch, and tell whoever it's necessary to tell. What they do with the information is their problem.

Oh, and no offense taken. But I do know two of them. One real well, one sorta well. *shrugs* And no, I'm not gonna say names, or tell you who. You're not a sub who's spending time with him.

Aw, darn. I go to class for an evening, and thought when I came back that the thread had grown so quickly because it was interesting.

If only I'd known that I was missing a soap opera I'd have stayed home to watch it!

Grace isn't sharing the cookies! Cat better do something or else I'm gonna go complain! :nana:

What, you mean that's not how things work 'round here? *blink*

As one who has started a few threads which seem to take a turn for the worse, *hugs

As for my part, and for what it means, your apology is received, accepted and you are forgiven.

When I see someone admit to a fault, share what they learned and apologize, I see this as having strength of character. I hope you won't let this disuade you from contributing more in the future around these here parts. :rose:

Apology accepted, though I would add I wouldn't waste too much energy sweating over the whole thing here. I think most of us have had moments when we have posted out of emotions we are going through which may or may not be related to activities on Lit, and most of us have posted and been misunderstood or jumped on. Of course the only way to avoid it is to lurk (yuk, where is the fun and growth in that?!!) or becoming a beige person and agreeing left, right, and centre (which usually comes unstuck as you then have to contradict yourself over and over and someone will notice and mention it somewhere). In this forum I have found most get over it all and move on, and genuinely want people to contribute and hang in there. It really is a very supportive community and one you can count on when the chips are down. Hope you can put this behind you and you continue to post. :rose:
