What's a better werewolf movie, American Werewolf in London or The Howling?

Are you able to recite the entire Star Wars trilogy line by line?

Were you reading Stephen King and Anne Rice while your peers were still stuck on the Hardy Boys?

Do Halloween costume parties give you about as much anticipatory excitement as sex?

If so, then we have a lot in common. I'm just looking for all the other geeks on literotica out there...where are you all?!

American Warewolf - much better. Cutting edge effects at the time. Hard to believe it was done by the same guy who started out by doing Animal House.

Anne Rice is probably my favorite author with Stephen King a close second. Actually, I prefer the Bachman books, before he used his real name. The Long Walk is my favorite.

For Halloween this year, I went to a costume party as Vulgar the clown. Only one person knew what I was and somehow, that was great.

Oh, and your signature quote? Great line from Real Genius. True to it's name, that movie was genius.

Geeks of the world unite!

I'm a geek

A computer geek in specific.

While I've never seen the howling, I'm sure it was fine.

I don't go in for the horror novels, I prefer Sci-Fi and fantasy...

However, I love costume parties!
This halloween I was a software pirate! YARRR!

LMAO I love the Real Genius quote. I thought I was the only person to ever reference that line. Does this mean I am a geek?
I can live with that.

Maybe.

Am I a sound geek if I bitch about the 3 kHz range being too hot in the remastering of some Deutsche Grammaphon record of some Bruckner music played by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra from 1955?

It's all Geek to me

Yea, that all sounds geeky, and hell, that's great.

I'm just trying to find fellow horror/sci-fi/movie geeks out there in erotic land. You know, those that just aren't into whips and chains.

Hello i'm bisquick

<hi bisquick>

I'm a geek...and I love it. Being a geek has never been so hip...not even when huey lewis said it was back in the awesome 80's.

so whip out your boba fett figures, and lets play some metroid.

BTW i think us "geeks" tend to be more sexually adventurous, and educated. Due to popularity constraints in HS i made it my goal to be a great lover, so i could offer the girls something they wouldnt get from the pretty boys...I think being a good lover is a geek trademark...am i wrong here?

Yep. Geekdom is in vogue, thanks to things like Ain't-it-cool-news.com and movies like Lord of the Rings (Praise be PJ) making millions and millions.

And I agree that we make better lovers. As one famed nerd named Lewis put it:
"All jocks ever think about is sports. All nerds ever think about is sex."

Okay, to keep this post going, give me some idea of what one thing -- movie, comic, novel, show, toy -- that made you a full fledged geek.

For me, it was probably a Japanamation show in the 80s called Robotech. I could recite the entire story arc and I quickly learned how to program the then-new VCR to record the show every damn day.

well i am a HUGE star wars geek, until episode 2 came out...I love episodes 4-6 though :)

I grew up on star wars, and nintendo, I have always been a geek. Its hard for me to pinpoint one thing. I mean even when i was doing non-geek things (football team) I still didnt want any part of what other "popular" kids were doing. not that i havent gotten very drunk, and thrown up in weird places, but the whole date-rape thing wasnt that appealing.

I guess if I had to designate one thing that makes me a geek, it would be that of all the people i relate to from (mainstream) film in the past 5 years, its the band camp girl from american pie.

BTW i wasn't that big on robo-tech, but I LOVED VOLTRON!

I am sooo the band camp person. THough... I really never watch movies or the tv. I spend too much time on FruityLoops, Acid, Finale and Cubase to do anything else other than go to work...

DAMNIT!!! Shhh.. don't tell anyone...

1. AWIL
2. HELL YEA w/the movie on usually
3. The Stand
4. sometimes

Why does this make me a geek? I mean I understand the Star Wars part.

this one time at band camp.....

I was in band in high school LOL!!! I work in music now man, the stories I could tell...

A few months ago I had a really intense discussion one night with some friends over a bottle of wine and some smoke. We decided that it was really cool to be a geek. You didn't want to be a nerd, that was bad. The nerds stuck to the chess club and thought Star Trek or Star Wars (take 'yer pick) was what the future was going to be like and they listen to showtunes and stuff. As geeks we were in the A/V club like the nerds but we dug music and burning our (or randomly found) textbooks.

BTW, any Goonies fans in here? That's one of my all-time favorite movies.

what no rev of the nerds quotes

Face it the nerds said it best.

The only thing nerds/geeks think about is sex.

and proud of it.

Bussiness trips an excusse to get some strange.

I can beat Robotech as a measure of geekiness. I know all three of the japanese anime series it was made from. ;)

Plus, I know the Battletech 'Mechs that were made from Robotech (actually Macross, since I don't think the Southern Cross or Mospaeda mecha were used) mecha.

Now how's that for geeky? :D

Your alias irks me.

Cuz it is a homophone of the dreaded Seifer from the OCR boards. Our worst spammer yet over there.

Robotech!

Wants so bad to get an original Jetfire transformer (with UN spacey logo on it) for his desk!

I love robotech, and macross. I had the whole series on tape...till the tapes died a couple of years back.

I'm in school now, or I'd buy em on DVD.

Heh. I have two VF-1Js, a VF-1A, and a VF-1S (all fully transformable) on my display shelf next to my Timberwolf and Mad Dog OmniMechs and EVA-1 :)

I've got the Macross saga of Robotech on DVD (saw it one payday and was feeling nostalgic), but I never bothered with the others. Since the overall Robotech storyline was based on Macross, the conversions of the other series seemed really off.

Told ya I'm a geek. :D

Deffinatly geek material here - probably started even before the advent of Role Playing Games...

As for horror, I just wrote an erotic werewolf story (why should all the vampires have the fun) but was way late on the deadline for submitting here...maybe next year
