Wondering where you bbw's have met the man in your life? I am not having the least bit of luck...and since I guess I am looking for a relationship vs friend with benefits it makes it that much harder.

*Most* of the men in my life are here in LitLand .... except for a very few. Those few I met at university ... prior to 2004 I worked in a male dominated field and that helped with meeting men. Sort of. They weren't looking for more than friends w/ benefits, for the most part. If they were, I didn't pick up the clues.
This is going to get me jumped on but ... I personally think each guy is looking for FWB or just the benefits unless they say otherwise. I haven't mastered the art of determining what the guy wants as far as that goes. And for me - he needs to be pretty explicit about wanting a relationship. That's NOT to say some in the past have not wanted a relationship ... I just didn't pick up on it. *shrugs*
Ok. I'm rambling ... but the short answer is: I've met them through common obligations/interests and just hung around with them ... it developed or it didn't.

I was scared that I would frighten away this great man if I did not know how to show a little confidence in myself. SO, I started this thread. I am glad to hear it has brought you all that happiness and joy. We all deserve it. I am thankful to Lit and the friend that told me about. If I had not heard about it......I would not have met the love of my life. Take care....and glad to hear things are going well for you!
WOW......you are welcome. I was new to lit and really did not know that so many of the guys were BBW admirers. It was like a whole new world to me. About the same time I met a really great man.....who is now a huge part of my life. Prior to him I had many bad dating experiences, and was just really feeling low, with no self esteem. When I realized my man was REALLY into ME.....from head to toe, inside and out.....I was soooo shocked. I met my guy right here on lit. I had tried just being patient....."and he will show up"...did not work. Let friends and family set me up....did not work. Then for 2 very painful years I tried online dating. While I know many people have success and good experiences....mine really were not. Maybe cause I was a BBW.....maybe not, who knows. I do know that many men did reject me because I was a BBW, or would say....."your pic must be old, you do not look that heavy in them". "Well jackass....a pic is 2D and I am here in 3D now, oh and BTW....that pic is about 6 months old, and i was heavier in that pic then I am now, so kiss it creep!" OK...sorry I lost track of where i was!!!!!! I took a chance and intro'd myself to a few people from my state on here. One of them is my current bf. We had some rough spots in the beginning, but we are still together almost a year later. In my experience....be super honest about what you are looking for. If you want FBW, then tell the guy......and if things change......again, be honest tell him your feelings have changed, and be open to the fact that his may also, but that he may also want to only be FWB. If that is the case, let him go. I found when I stopped being wishy washy and saying what a man wanted to hear, and was true to myself......then I got lucky. My honesty paid off. I am with a great man today because I told himm how I honestly felt.....and he felt the same. The men on lit are great......even the jerks! LOL. Good luck. Trust me, there are BBW lovers out there.
