Not exactly a birthday present, but I got it on the same day... The confirmation that a local recording studio had a free spot in the schedule and that me and my band got in there for free for a week, by resorting to nespotism and grovelling, which we're certainly not above doing.

So Monday to Friday next week, I'll be staring out over a big-ass mixerboard, trying to get as much recording done as humanly possible for possible album material. Really looking forward to that. But since our time in the studio is short, and we have a gazillion things we want to do, we're looking at 12, 16, 24 hour workdays in there.

Which means I'll be more or less out of your hair for a week. Enjoy. :D

But I'll need some creative input abot how the hell a lazy slob like me is going to manage. Ever had to pull a stunt like that? What to I do, or not do, or eat, or inject, to keep the lids up and the head sharp?

Happy birthday, Liar. I'm glad that you got such an excellent present!

One thing that I've learned, but this may be particular to me - sugar and caffeine make a heady combination. I'm better off eating "real" food and taking caffeine tablets than drinking sodas with caffeine in them. They leave my head spinning!

:) Birthday was weeks ago. But thanx.

Duly noted. I'm with you on the caffeine soda. It messes with my digestion. And I don't want to sing w. too much flatulence. ;)

I can't help ya much on this one, my lack of sleep isn't by choice..

However, avoid turkey.. It makes ya sleepy.

Don't eat too many carbs, that only gives you energy if you're physically active afterwards.. Unless you bring a set of barbells with you and do some exercises while working..

Shang is right about the sugar and caffeine, for one thing try to avoid sugar anyways, it gives you energy but then brings you crashing down afterwards.. It's bad energy anyways, often lose the ability to concentrate fully when you have too much sugar. Real food, but not too many carbs unless you're going to be active.

...

Buy some caffeine tablets and eat lots of chocolate. I'm pretty tolerant to caffeine so I end up taking double the amount it says on the box, but if it's your first time having them I would NOT recommend doing that. Red bull can also help.
