Anyone seen this?

The story of white trash Florida kids plotting the murder of a 'freind'. based on a true story.

Harrowing portrait of the lives of the idle, unintelligentn driftwood in the Sargasso Sea of middle income America.

Much better than I expected.

Yep, I saw this one a couple of months ago. It was one seriously fucked movie (and wasn't the youngest Phillips daughter in it also?).

Yup, Bijou Philips.

Yes, its fucked up in that the scenario is hard to believe. But it did actually happen, somewhat close to what is portrayed. The characters are what I imagine exists in circumstances that lead to these types of killings.

Ever notice that this type of stuff almost always happens in either Florida or Texas?

Rachel Miner is excellent in the film in a complicated role.

Same guy who did 'Kids', right?

I've not seen either. I know they are both meant to be really good but the thing is, at the end of the day, when I've been at work for hours and hours and then I get the bus home after waiting in the rain forever and I know I still have to make dinner and probably about a thousand other miscellaneous tasks, I stand in the video store and look at the box for 'bully' (and other worthy but intense films) and I just think, "no, no, I can't bear it, not tonight" and end up getting something fluffy instead.

Or, you know, a porno.

Peachy, Kids was overrated. But bully is worth a rental. Trust me, its wildly entertaining.

I don't know that it was that hard to believe (since I knew it was based on a true story). What was fucked up to me is that there could be such a depth of amorality and complete blankness in people so young.

I did like Rachel Miner's acting, and not for the rampant nudity either.

True. The strength of the film is in never straying too far from their viewpoint, however hideous that is.

There is a ton of nudity in the film. Almost unrelenting at times but so fitting. It works, especially with Ms. Miner to allow us to see the intimacy these characters have. Granted they are shallow and not bright, but they do feel connected in their disfunctional way.

The heather character, while true to the actualy story, added nothing to the film.

Haven't seen Bully, but I had it as one I wanted to check out.

Did see Kids, and immediately wished I could have those 2 hours back.

There's a video store in town where the employees can write little synopsis or reviews of the films and put the note up on the shelf in front of that movie.

In front of Kids, one employee had put a note that said "I would rather have a cornflake and cement enema than see this film again."

I was in agreement.

I disagree with a lot of people about Kids. I thought it was good. I saw it about 7 years ago. I might not think highly of it if I saw it again today.
