Buffy: Countdown to the Apocalypse

Cibo, I agree... I actually got a little bored watching that fight -ok, yes, good lesson for the slayerettes, but couldn't she have just hit him with a whole bunch of flaming arrows from that crossbow, or something that would leave her in better condition herself? Sheesh...

Loved loved loved the Spike rescue... awwwwww... made my day better, and I needed that...

see this

night, all!

sorry to be self promoting - i just wanted to see if i could figure out how to link things within a post, like the cool kids..

thank you for your indulgence.. ;)

Well tonight's episode just ended a few moments ago (Curses UPN affiliate for showing Timberwolves game) and it was a damn good one.

UberVamp and Buffy fight... She wore him down well enough for me. She got his left eye with the bottle of holy water and then before she killed it she got the right eye with the broken arrow. A blind vamp can't fight as well as a fully sighted one so that explains how she could beat on it then get behind it as easily as she did.

Spike & Buffy... There are some sparks flying between those 2 for sure. Buffy has started caring for him more and more since he came back.

Random thoughts.... Buffy won't be the one who jumps into the Hell Mouth to close it because she isn't the last Slayer. It will have to Faith or someone she spawns if she dies because even if the Hellmouth is closed with Faith or her spawn alive a Slayer just doesn't stop being a Slayer. So... Buffy dies in the final episode and then Faith or the Slayer she activates has to jump into the Hellmouth... Possibly trying to stop Buffy from falling into it. Which means both active Slayer will fall/jump in at the same time.

Interesting idea's...too bad they haven't taped that far ahead yet. Only up to eps 15 so far. The ones they have taped are good tho.

I'm into prognosticating so I'll throw in what I think could happen because I don't need to know what happens before making my guesses. Better to make guesses that could be right instead of just looking up what is known and saying I know, lol.

I really liked Tuesdays episode too. I didn't see her fight the Ubervamp on the other episode but I thought it looked a little too easy. I really thought the part with Spike saying she will come was great. I got season 3 of Buffy on DVD yesterday, got to watch Band Candy last night, I forgot how much I loved that episode.

Biggest plot hole???? hmmmmmm...

I'm still suspicious of Buffy's mom appearing in a dream... I'm less suspicious of Giles, since he and Anya took a trip to the eyeball oracle. Very nice, that! "I can't give it away in this town - is it the hair?"

I feel the biggest plot hole is this - how do you fight an intangible evil? ok, it has minions, Buffy keeps killing them... but this is more of a mindfucking evil than an evil like Adam. It feels like we're just spinning in our tracks, passing time, these past two episodes. I want plot advancement, and I'm just not a patient girl... <I know, piss, whine, moan...> and I'm also not loving tonites pre-emption for a lousy bloopers special - yuck!

can we have a hint?

Not this season, I mean overall.

It concerns vampires.

1 idiosynchrity that I've had cross my mind more than once, involves both buffy and angels shows. Spike had came back to find an amulet to make vamps invincible, Buffy was able to gain possession of it and sent it to Angel, however, on Angel's show, he doesn't have it or use it or whatever and is still very vunerable to reg vamp stuff. (yeah, I know, the writers can't make things too easy for the hero to win.....but still drives me crazy...lol).

this surely isn't the biggest, and it's not to do with vamps - but it bugged my best friend and I no end:

When Anya had killed all those frat boys with the huge spider, for the poor dumped girl who said, "I wish they could feel what it's like to have your heart ripped out, just once."

Well, she wanted to take it back... and D'halfryn told her, it would cost the life of a vengeance demon, and Halfrek died -

ok, we've seen this happen before - all you have to do is destroy Anya's amulet necklace, and her last act of vengeance is undone, and she loses her powers...

Wouldn't that have been simpler??????

I don't watch Angel often, but I do remeber a scene where Angel was standing beside the ocean... layed the ring on a stone wall and destroyed it.

I have been trying to figure out how a vampire could get some one pregnant though.

ooooooooooooooh, good thinking girly!!! conor, the amazing miracle boy...

Actually, I've been thinking more along the lines of autopsies.

Let's say half the vamps are turned and never find their way to the morgue.

That still leaves half of the vamps in Sunnydale walking around with no innards.

And that can't be. A vamp still needs all their parts to be able to function correctly.

LMAO
Such as Harmony, perhaps? Or that dude from Buffy's high school, the one she sat and talked with and talked with and talked with, the night the First appeared to Dawn and Willow?

Good point... but - oh, my... suspension of disbelief, I guess!

Well, we don't know if Harm was snatched away by the guy who bit her, or if she was taken to the morgue.

But generally, when you're buried, you're a bit lighter for having most of your insides scooped out and replaced with like, sawdust or whatever.

Maybe the coroners and undertakers around the world are in some kind of secret plot to make sure that vamps can make it out of the ground. Like, they know something from the way they died or some biological process begins as soon as they are bitten and feed of their sire and the authorities (Coroner's Office, Undertakers) don't take anything out and just say they did. *Shrugs*

BTW Rasta... Is Faith already in Sunnydale or on her way and soon to arrive? Not that she would be on the show, just that Faith is in town? I ask because I just read the "description" of next weeks show and it reads as follows (I have digital cable and they give you a lineup of all channels and what will be on a week ahead of time, thats how I know)...

Potential: Buffy and Spike train potential slayers; Willow performs a spell that reveals the existence of yet another slayer in Sunnydale.

Notice how it doesn't say "Potential" slayer in town or slayer in training, it just says slayer....

Since Rasta brought up things that arnt logical w/ the Buffy thought frame, I've been thinking. (Also seeing the old show where Dru and Spike were bringing the judge back, helped w/ this thought). In the show w/ the judge, the judge was put back together to destroy humanity. My question is, if you destroy ALL of humanity (as the judge would have done, killed all the humans) what would the vamps eat?? I know they could eat animals. They seem to prefer humans tho a lot more. So why completely kill your predominant food source?

There is another in Sunnydale. Potential. And she is very close by all the time. You should find out next episode.

I wonder if she was always in line, or if the blood mixing in season five is what did it.

As to no humanity. In the finale of season two, when Angel intended on raising Acathla to destroy the world, Spike mentions something along the lines of this, and this is off the top of my head. "We like to talk big. Vampires do. 'I'm going to destroy the world.' It's tough guy talk. Strutting around with your mates over a pint of blood. The truth is, I like this world. You've got dog racing, Manchester United. And you've got people. Billions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs. It's all right here. But then someone comes along with a vision. With a rea passion for destruction. Angel could pull it off. Goodbye, Piccadilly. Farewell, Leicester Bloody Square."
