Buffy: Countdown to the Apocalypse

And who IS the big bad this year? The dude that killed anya's friend?

Who, D'Hoffryn? LOL! No!

I do know, I'm pretty sure anyway, who the Big Bad is. But that, my friend, has to be kept private.

Heh, ok ok. When will we find out who the big bad is then Rasta?

Shortly before Joyce shows up. But after Jonathon and Andrew come back to the 'Dale.

Ok..buffy's mom comes back...interesting.

And who is this Jonathon and Andrew?

Two thirds of last years Nerds of Doom, Trio, Evil Triumverate?

The geeks.

*pout* Rasta, I would really love to hear who you think the big bads gonna be, or is, or...whatever.

But then you're usually right ;) so, I guess I'll just wait and see.

I could see the principle as the "bad guy". But I think that's to obvious. I'm also curious as to what price Willow will have to pay for saving Anya. hmmm... I'd love to see Tara come back as an evil force.

Ok, I'll stop rambling now.

Ah, I didn't watch last season at all so I dunno who they are. :(

What happened to them?

Willow didn' save Anya. And Anya already paid the price, ie, Hallies immolation.

The Principal is in with the Watcher's Council.

If he's with the council...does that make him a watcher or just a schmuck?

Plus what ever happened to faith? She still in jail?

I'd say he's not a Watcher, but an operative. Of which they have thousands. Remember, the Council is international.

Faith's still in jail at the moment, but she's in about 9 episodes of Buffy and Angel this year.

Rasta, you are the Buffy God!

That or I'm just a scrawny average looking stutterer who has no social life outside of writing papers on the philosophica details of Buffy.

That could be it.

<;

9 eps huh? Is that 9 for each or 9 total for like 5 for buffy and 4 for angel or what?

I sorta want her to die to see a new slayer come about.

And if Rasta IS the buffy god...then who actully founded the council? Way back when.

5 Buffy, 4 Angel. You got it.

The Council is nearly as old as man, in one form or another. They've been together through everything, even during wars, Watcher's and Op's from opposing sides fought side by side in the war against the demons. There's an episode late this season dealing with it's history.

Ok, that does it. I think you work on the set or know someone who does that gives you all the deep dish info.

Yeah, thats pretty freaky Rasta. You are my personal Buffy god, but man, how the hell do you know all this stuff? Its somewhat frightening...but wicked wicked cool. Joyce is coming back? jesus...and we've gotta wait like two weeks for a new episode, fuck!

And Faith can't come back soon enough, i'm so in love with Eliza.

That's interesting Joyce will be back. I missed almost all of the season where she died and am still regretting it. It was my first year in college and I had class on Tuesdays and kind of feel out of the habit of watching it. I've had class on Tuesdays every semester since and watched all of last season. I'm still not quite sure why she died? I thought she was sick or something?

Glad you're back Rasta.
Oh hey by the way after this weeks episode did any of you guys catch how when they did "scenes from next weeks Buffy" that they claimed it was the "special" halloween buffy but the scenes were from the first episode of this season? If they are really just rerunning it I'm going to be so depressed, I've always loved their Halloween episodes :(

Well to my knowledge, Amber Benson is only coming back for a few episodes and she will be Tara's (straight) twin sister.

Yes, we ARE being scammed out of a Halloween episode this year, for the first time ever. But never before has so much been going on in the 'Dale pre-Halloween, so I accept it.

And no, Tara will NOT be having a twin sister named Dara, or Lara, or anything "ara'", it's getting to be unlikely AB will return in any capacity this season as all, but keep your fingers crossed.

And I'm ammending my last statement: Joyce returns at the same time as Jonathan and Andrew.

From beneath you, it devours.

When Buffy left Spike in the basement...with him saying "Don't leave" I wanted to hit her over the head with something.

I also have the feeling that the whole precog girl (can't remember the characters name) telling Spike "She will say it" is a set up for Buffy's death. I can see the show going in that direction, just as Buffy dies she tells Spike she loves him. Which if it happens is gonna piss me off.

I'm getting ready to state an opinion that is, obviously, not going to be popular with the board but....

I understand Buffy's not wanting to comfort Spike during his time of distress. I don't agree with the reasoning that she should forgive his attempted rape of her just because he was 'soulless'. I know, I know...vampire = soulless creature doomed to do evil, etc. I'm sure Spike has at least seen rape victims during his tenure on earth and knows what it can do to a person. Even if not, there is no one who will ever convince me that a man doesn't have some idea of what completely violating a person could possibly do to them. I do believe Spike's judgement was clouded however this is no excuse to hurt someone you claim to love by raping them. It's just an excuse. Any woman in her right mind would be wary of him right now with good reason. I think Buffy will eventually forgive him when she realizes he has changed not because he has a soul (humans do evil things allthe time) but because he is now allowing his conscience to rule his actions unlike before. She may eventually admit her love for him as well. Anyone grow up in the late 70's, early 80's who remember Luke and Laura from General Hospital? Buffy needs to quit running in Spike's face until she's able to deal with his attempted rape of her without being witchy. She constantly runs to him for help then she's bitchy the entire time. I have issues with that. Okay...I'm ready for ya'll to let me have it on this one.

As far as the Willow gay issue - huh? I don't think it would be a 'slap' in the face to gay people if she got with Xander. Granted, I'm not gay so I'm sure I'm not looking at it from the right perspective so please let me know. Why would Willow getting with Xander be any more of a betrayal than Anne Heche 'realizing she's gay' then dumping Ellen and getting married...to a man. Willow's still young and learning about herself. I don't think it would be right to say, "Oops, just joking, I'm not gay now" but if she decides that she truly loves Xander and wants to be with him, what's wrong with that?

Okay...I'm ready for the comments!

braced against the desk, waiting for backlash

Rasta...thank you for posting this thread. It's nice reading comments about my favorite show without seeing 'somebody sucks' every other post. :)

*cough cough* Its a SHOW *cough cough*:D

Kidding, of course:D I just couldnt let ya get away without some sort of wise ass comment. I agree with you about Spike, that Buffy shouldnt forgive him, it was inexcusable, etc. But i honestly dont think he "knew" what he was doing at the time...i dunno, justme though. I mean, look at how he's beating himself up over it now? Who knows...well, Rasta and Joss, thats pretty much it.

I thought it was yet ANOTHER depressing episode...i wish they'd get something lighter goin on, some levity to the show for an episode. I mean, do something fun for once.

And yes, i'm start to assume Rasta is Joss...its scary, Mr. "From beneath you it devours" himself. Sheesh, guy is nasty at this Buffy stuff:D
