I have a male friend who's been talking about wanting to be a woman… I told him to take that in to deep consideration before trying anything like surgery or hormones, etc. He recently said he really wants to be a women but he also really likes BDSM. Basically he was asking me (since he's busy) to see if he would still be able to enjoy BDSM as a woman and what things like electrosex and nipple play would do with post-surgery parts. He expressed that he was concerned about if the vagina would be more succeptable to damage provided it was fully healed to begin with.

Anyway, I'm doing some reasearch and hope to get back to him when he gets back from his vacation. Any suggestions on this topic?

I have limited knowledge cmompared to some, but not zilch which is always good. The matter of whether it would still be possible to enjoy BDSM as a woman probably would not have that much significance as they are 2 separate areas of being. That being said, if your friend were going to be considering surgical means of change, there might be some restrictions as to what can be enjoyed at various stages due to health and medical issues involved. We are talking with pre-op sub at the moment who may play with us and he does have restrictions due to this. We also are talking with another sub who had an operation on his nipples many moons ago and now finds any form of nipple play unbearably painful and a definite hard limit, but as that was unrelated to the type surgery you are discussing, it might not be the case. I agree, it is not something to just jump into, but if it is something a person feels they need to feel happy with who they are and their life, it is a good option.

Hormones can dramatically affect a person's feelings, attitudes and values. Persons who were attracted to women before hormones may find themselves attracted to men. So its a little unpredictable, I think. She may lose interest in BDSM.

things like electrosex and nipple play would do with post-surgery parts.

Its well known that breast implants can rupture, so if she is gets them she would do well to avoid slaps and blows to her breasts. But I don't see why nipple torture should be a problem.

Found this site in my bookmarks which I had forgotten and which is written by a woman who was a man 3 decades ago, and has provided a lot of practical and medical knowledge in an understandable and readable manner.

Just a short interjection into the thread, but I probably know over a dozen women (friends of mine) that have breast implants. Sometimes doctors go under the breast and sometimes they cut the nipple (almost completely off) and do the insertion through there. I'm not sure if this would affect nipple torture but the scarring or even vulnerability of post-op nipples *might* be a concern in regards to extreme nipple play. Definitely it would be a concern right after the surgery. I don't know how much of a concern it would or wouldn't be after it was all healed.

Just a thought, unfortunately I am too exhausted at the moment to do any online research.

He said he didn't really want breast implants, so that shouldn't be a problem.

catalina_francisco: I've read that page before, but others on the forum may still find it useful :)

Edit: Expanded post.
