Brooklyn Giselle

Gratz Satin. She's beautiful!!

I gained 50 lbs with each of my two kids, one was 9lbs 2 oz and the other 10lbs 5 oz...both c-sections so no "adverse" side effects. ;)

Like others have said. Give yourself time for your body to recover from the stress and trauma. You will have plenty of exercise hen she starts being mobile. Enjoy the little one! :rose:

I'm ashamed to say that my initial response was to find this funny.

Seriously, time and place, people.

It's funny because it's Marquis and he told us all he was going to be a douchebag now that he's no longer a mod. Not douchebag. Forgot what word he used. Anyhoo, I was so emotional and teary after having a baby. I am doubting satin will chuckle and say good show. These days though I love Louis C. K. (sp? forgot), who makes fun of his kid in his act, and stuff like South Park. Sometimes being a mom involves so much OMGmykidpoopsrainbows! that I have to cut loose a little.

Since I have Marquis on ignore now, I missed the comment until it was quoted.

So, until now I was blissfully unaware of the douchbaggery.

Ah, well. I can only go unharassed for so long. *shrug*

Glad I didn't quote it then!

It wasn't -me- that was upset, it was the other people who got a bee in their knickers over my comment. There was nothing for me to 'get over'. Since the thread is so old, how about we just drop the subject and stop beating a dead horse, eh?

Any time you need a few limbs broken and Mister is out of town, I'm just a phone call away Satin.

Your job right now sugar is to get better for that baby, especially with Mister having to travel. Lean on your support as much as you need, and keep a hold of that baby or I might just abduct the adorable one :D

You'll drop the weight, if anyone can do it, you can hon.

Focus on recovery first though. You can't work out, or take care of the kiddo if you end up crashing because you pushed too hard.

You are the best friend a girl could have. Thank you sweetie.

Lord, we've known each other for almost ten years now and you've watched me grow and change from a little girl to a mother! These words of encouragement from you mean more to me than you know. Thank you.

It takes 9-12 months to [completely] physically recover from pregnancy and labor. If you try to cut corners on your recovery (diet, overdo things physically, etc), it can/may have an impact on your nursing relationship, and recovery.

Your job for the next 6-8 weeks is to rest. For the next month, the most difficult meal you should cook is a PB&J sandwich. After your stitches have healed, the most physical activity you should engage in is a 30 minute walk each day. Sleep when the baby sleeps for the first 6 weeks or so. Stay hydrated. Eat a normal healthy diet- whole grains, fresh fruits/veggies, lean meats/proteins, a treat every now and then. The extra calories needed (on average) for a nursing mother can be had with a peanut butter sandwich (on whole grain) and glass of milk.

I'm glad I read the whole thread before throwing my two cents in, cause CM did and better than me.

Don't stress yourself out. Eat well, and don't cut your portions if you're nursing - you need extra. If you're not breast feeding, then eat normally, but not less or you'll slow your recovery.

I didnt notice the pic before. She is beautiful!

Now that the 'newborn puffiness' has pretty much gone away, you can really tell what her face looks like. She's soo cute.

Don't think I could bring myself to participate in an English-language thread that included the word bebe.

Just an observation: OP's name, laZilla, implies the possibility of a non-native English speaker, or second generation, and "bebe" can be translated to "baby" in the Latinate languages (Italian, Spanish, French, Portugese)....

satin!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Geeze..I really haven't been here in a long time. I just had another son 2 weeks ago. (the 16th)
