Brexit

But whatever happened to keeping a stiff upper lip and all that? You know, keeping it cool. This seems very unlike the British I thought I knew. :D

I see you missed 2011.

In US terms, the referendum was like the Tea Party suggesting something and the Republicans going along with it for peace within their ranks, only to find that the proposal attracted mainstream Republicans and Democrats to both sides.

That is quite an illuminating illustration. Thank you.

I don't remember it being anything like this. The vitriol now is very surprising.

Well, it's kind of a big deal. It's a lit of talk and a lot of people genuinely worried about tgeir future. But I've yet to see riots?

I don't see that as a lie, but I also don't for a minute think that "lie" was central to the vote.

Yeah, you seriously need to stop posting on this topic. Every word you type just makes you look more of an ignorant cretin.

The ignorant cretins are the ones throwing vicious insults at Leave voters, calling them traitors and such.

To be honest, this is the first time I've paid really close attention to a British vote. The vote in 2011 was nothing compared to this, in my mind, and it turned out the way I thought it would. I was not only surprised by this vote, I'm even more surprised by the reaction to it. You would think Leave voters committed murder.

They're just venting. It's a decision that will affect their future.

just venting? that uasually doesnt happen about genuine matters?

Oh if anything good comes form gove/johnsson/farage vanity project, its that TTIP is now seriously fucked.
