Someone posted a link to this excellent speech by Brett Weinstein , following the event at Evergreen College where he was unfairly accused of racism and threatened by a mob of -mainly white- students.
for challenging their decision to ask white students to leave the a campus for a day.
"Bret Weinstein Explains the Evergreen "Day of Absence" Controversy - The Joe Rogan Experience" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-st73zhZL3A
My personal comments:
- First of all.
My captions represent less than 20%.
- Secondly:
In my mind, this isn't about American whites versus blacks.
The incident at Evergreen College that sparked this controversy was just a starting point for a general discussion. And I'm sure that one could give examples of similar incidents regarding other such subjective dichotomies that one often comes across nowadays in leftist literature. ('oppressed Muslims versus christian oppressors, enlightened Atheists versus backward Christians, oppressed western women versus western male oppressors').
But this interview made me understand more clearly both the reason why they act the way they act, but also the contradictions existent in the current R versus L political parties.
- In which moderates join forces and work alongside radicals, without recognizing that even if they adhere to similar principles, one's end goal is constructive, and the other is destructive. (liberals vs. leftists // conservatives vs. R- wingers)
Since I see myself as a centrist with conservative leanings who was frequently and unjustly accused of racism (only on the GB) for criticising some of the Leftist views,
- this interview was of particular interest to me.
