Someone posted a link to this excellent speech by Brett Weinstein , following the event at Evergreen College where he was unfairly accused of racism and threatened by a mob of -mainly white- students.
for challenging their decision to ask white students to leave the a campus for a day.

"Bret Weinstein Explains the Evergreen "Day of Absence" Controversy - The Joe Rogan Experience" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-st73zhZL3A

My personal comments:

- First of all.
My captions represent less than 20%.
- Secondly:
In my mind, this isn't about American whites versus blacks.
The incident at Evergreen College that sparked this controversy was just a starting point for a general discussion. And I'm sure that one could give examples of similar incidents regarding other such subjective dichotomies that one often comes across nowadays in leftist literature. ('oppressed Muslims versus christian oppressors, enlightened Atheists versus backward Christians, oppressed western women versus western male oppressors').

But this interview made me understand more clearly both the reason why they act the way they act, but also the contradictions existent in the current R versus L political parties.
- In which moderates join forces and work alongside radicals, without recognizing that even if they adhere to similar principles, one's end goal is constructive, and the other is destructive. (liberals vs. leftists // conservatives vs. R- wingers)

Since I see myself as a centrist with conservative leanings who was frequently and unjustly accused of racism (only on the GB) for criticising some of the Leftist views,
- this interview was of particular interest to me.

Captions from the interview (much less than 20%):

The linchpin of the interview:

"I believe that at the moment, Coalitions are unholy alliances between two things:
- So you have the real equity movement: people who wish to end oppression.
- And then you have another movement that wishes to reverse oppression. They want special advantage given to people who were historically oppressed, and a reversal of roles.
And they don't know they're different, because until you reach equity, they're pointing in the same direction."

Additional:

"1. It's primarily occurring in Universities, which are anything But inequitable.
-- But there's also a reason for it being in Colleges. Which is that there is real inequity in civilization that needs to be dealt with. What I find most troubling is the skew in policing and Courts, which results in a disproportionate fraction of blacks being incarcerated, which has a terribly destabilizing impact In this community. So that is a very real harm that would be hard to overstate and Has to be addressed, in order to make any claim on a fair society.
-- That said, it is very hard to attack the Private Prison Complex, for example. On the other hand, universities are a soft target; They can't defend themselves, and they already have sympathies in the direction of a view of a radically enhanced world. This is displaced anger.

2.Utopias = They think they know enough about how things work to ascribe a good state for things to reach,. and they tend to focus on One thing they want better, and tend to ignore what will come(the negatives)if they engage in it.
Cult = The mechanisms that have people doubling down on absurdities, rather than trying to get on the right side of history, is very cult-like.

3.But there's also a positive side of what happened. I got letters from people of all political orientations, who became galvanized by seeing something that doesn't fit any narrative they've seen before. All on the same page.
-- So I do hope that what emerges from this is that right or left Coalitions that exist (those that have a noble part)' will look at themselves and will recognize that it (the noble part) is paired with something that isn't noble. I'm hopeful that people who find themselves ill-served by the narrative will join together. and a coalition of the reasonable might emerge."

Oh well.
I can't say anymore that no one bothered about my thread.

My biggest fan did. :rose:

We have crossed the Rubicon. The socio-politico-economic divide is too great.

We don't even speak the same language any more.

Indeed.

And since "the US is the largest exporter of culture" as someone said, this will spread, I think.

Europe is following closely enough, although the divide is mostly at the level of massmedia. I believe that most laypeople are more moderate.

The Scribe class is uniting with the Elite class to bring us back to the era of the Tribal Tyrant and his Witchdoctor...

Where the scribe was the brain directing the tyrant(s) as to how to run their societies.

Their economic model will be to offer the common man the benefits of church (in this case the religion will be secularism/moral relativism) and state which will tax him permanently into a state of hapless hopelessness for anything better than the crumbs from Longshank's table.

I'm glad I checked the 2nd page.

Rogan has a brand spanking new podcast, I just watched it, and it's really fucking good.

Jordan Peterson and Bret Weinstein discussing marxism, post-modernism, science, religion, social and individual responsibility, etc.

JRE #1006

Bret said he is in the process of trying not to sue ESU.

When you posted the link to the interview and made those comments, I had an "Aha" moment. Outstanding intellectual, fantastic interview.

It was a moment that was as groundbreaking for me as when underguy1 introduced us to the idea of Mark Blythe's "Global Trumpism" ("The era of globalism has ended, the era of nationalism -good and bad- has begun").

You guys (you,4est, EF and many others) are fantastic.
More, please. :rose:
