The Drudge Report is breaking a story about infidelity on the part of John Kerry.

See: The Drudge Report

I am not making any commentary, I am just making everyone aware of this breaking story.

Hmmm. Interesting.

I sure would like to know why this stuff only becomes an issue when it's a Democrat. Bob Dole fucked around on his first wife and the Post (aka "the liberal media") sat on the story.

If this is true and Clark knew about it, I question why he abandoned the race. He entered in the first place because Kerry seemed to be floundering.

Ah, what do you call all the flap over President Bush's military career?

Matt Drudge is such a reliable source for info.

MAYBE a few things here and there actually do come out as trueish but Matt Drudge is in the same boat with the National Enquirer.

I don't really care if he has sex with chickens. But that's just me.

I'm not even goiong to look at this shit. I am a conservitive and a republican, buit I did do not like smears. I don't like it when either side does it. It is bull shit and has nothing to do with how good a person will be at being President.

Please make note of the fact that Drudge is breaking a story that is under investigation at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST (three outlets that could hardly be considered conservative) and the ASSOCIATED PRESS.

To dismiss Matt Drudge as an unreliable news source is silly. Any news story broken by any reporter is subject to hindsight but Drudge does have a record of breaking stories that the mainstream press usually ignores or misses completely.

I'm talking about sex. Bush's predecessor went through a little controversy over his military career or lack of one, as you may recall.

Lobito, Drudge isn't always right, but he has pretty good sources when it comes to Democratic sex gossip. I tend to think he's correct that organizations are indeed looking into something, which is not to say they're going to find anything they can use.

You may recall that in 88 and 92 BushI was accused of the same thing, despite the alleged women saying there was no there, there.

The story was brought up OFTEN OFTEN.

Short memory?

Have you ever noticed...

Democrat scandals always revolve around sexual indiscretion

Republican scandals always revolve around billions of dollars of taxpayers money and justification of wars involving the deaths of hundreds of soldiers and thousands of civilians?

hmmmm.

The link's not working. What's the latest pile of political bullshit all about now?

I've said it before, and I will say it again - stick to the issues.

There is plenty of ammunition to hurl at anyone you disagree with when you stick to the issues. If you go for the smear, then you lower yourself to level of muck-raker, and no one is innocent.

Of course, none of the above really seem to make a difference with the public. The general populace loves their gossip, and despite the fact that many of them cheated on their spouses at one time or another, they believe they should judge a politician by a higher standard than that which they hold themselves to.

Besides, knowing and debating the issues is too much work for most people - it is just easier to listen for gossip, to like or dislike someone for their style instead of their substance, and to vote with their hormones instead of their brains. Thinking is hard work.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

at least Drudge gives credit that Time, ABC, etc. are **serious** investigators.

Personally I don't care who breaks a story, or what the story is about unless it's about the candidate commiting something worse then "adultry" type of things.

I almsot WANT to know my president was at one time sexually active.

If a sex scandal is the only thing in his closet then too bade for the people digging up the "skeltons".

It reached the gossip phase only. I doubt those rumors were ever mentioned in (for example) the New York Times. It's certainly possible that I'm wrong, though; it was a while back.

One side note that could be significant: one of Kerry's early advisers was fired and apparently went on to work with Clark. If this story is true, Kerry and his people would have had to talk about what the implications would be if it got out. That might explain Drudge's reference to Clark.

If it's true, and it's happened within the last 18 months to 2 years, then it's not about sex it's about judgement.

How fucking stupid do you have to be to fuck around when you know you're going to be running for President? The only way you can keep something like that quiet is if you know you're going to lose. Once you become the front runner you're a target for everyone.

If it's true he's a fool.
