brazillian....for the first time

chitty love, will you come back and tell me some really useful questions like:

what do you wear during the proceedure? are you naked down there? the thought of someone non medical looking at my vagina is well, a little odd to me, that why ive always done my bikini line at home with wax.

but the thing is, he wants it now hairless, i hate the look of the nudeness, it being rather child like to my eye, but if it pleases him then thats ok. so the brazillian is a answer, but im not sure id cope with exposing myself to a what? beauty therapist/hairdresser.

How many tweezed hairs were removed, are we talking a few, or lots?

How long did the whole thing take?

of course i wil, shelleb....:D

i know what you mean about feeling odd about someone like that being up close and personal with my crotch! but i'm told that the esthetician (that's who you go see, not a hairdresser) i'm going to does this all the time....pretty much all she does. so i guess, with her, a puss is a puss is a puss!! lol!

i agree with the whole complete nudeness thing, i don't like the idea of looking like a prepubescent girl, so i'm going for a little triangle....more natural looking than a landing strip (no offence to anyone with one....just personal preference!).

well, two more sleeps and it'll be done! more to report after the deed is done!

Yes, please tell me all the specifics too. I was just discussing doing the brazilian with the girl that does my eyebrows. But I had to run and couldn't finish the conversation.

A special thanks to all the girls who will take the bullet first and share the details.:rose:

or is it we're suckers for pain?!!

thanks for the input, x.....:D

What EXACTLY is the difference between a bikini wax and a brazillian? Are we talking removing all the hair from everywhere? Around the anus if you have them, etc? Seems like it would hurt like hell.... But I would think you would stay smooth for much longer? Can't wait for a report......:D

The difference is the removal of all hair from the buttocks even the peachy fuzz ,( if requested for a baby smooth butt) . the labia is folded and wax is applied to that area for removal of hair as well, some tweasing is done for the strays.
I was told i would be bikini carefree for atleast 6 wks.

I recently had this done. I commented earlier ,but as of today i think i'll just go back to my little patch and continue with the basic bikini wax. Its costly and intrusive...and 3 wks later ,i do not feel that much of a difference with having had a "BRAZ"vs. my typ kini...... was something new to try and i will try anything once.

good luck today

i did it!!! i survived!!!!:D

ok...it wasn't too bad. so the hair needs to be 1/4", no shorter as the roots are long under the skin and the wax needs something to grab onto. i wore nothing below my waist and had a towel over me, so my humility was parked at the door! first she baby powdered the area she was going to wax first and then she went for it! the first area was right at the front and it hurt!! but only for a moment, and she said that it was the most painful area, and from then on, the pain would be less. well, she was right, except when she got to the "hood", right on top of my clit, omg....that's the most painful area! but it was only for a moment again. i couldn't believe it but the labia and anus wasn't even at all painful! after having to spread my legs a bit to get to the labia, she lifted one leg up and got to the perenium, then the other leg to get to the other side! so after all the waxing was done, she tweezed the stray hairs and i have to say, that was uncomfortable.....thank goodness there weren't that many! some oil to remove the remaining bits of wax, and some teatree oil to soothe was applied, then she said....flip over! so i did and she spread my ass and did my anus! no pain.

after it was all done, i looked down in horror to see that i was completely swollen and hived up! apparently, it's normal for the first timers.....she suggested that i take some benedryl next time before i come. that it's an allergic reaction but the antihistamine in the benedryl will take care of it! so next time, the couple of advils that i took plus the benedryl and i'll be fine! the whole procedure took about 30 mins, and the idea of her being that intimate with my genitals didn't really bother me. i guess the fact that she does this all day made me feel like she was kinda like my doctor!

so, now i'm baby smooth and loving it!!! i made an appt for 4 weeks from now and will definitely keep this up! the few moments of pain was definitely worth it! have to remember to moisturize and exfoliate and i'll be all good!

so for any of you who are thinking about it.....go for it!!! i love it and will never go back to shaving!!! just ask around and find out who in your city is the "brazilian queen" and you'll be fine. if she knows what she's doing, then it shouldn't be torturous. i guess it also depends on your pain tolerance.....i have tattoos and my tongue pierced, so pain is not a stranger to me. well girls, go get waxed!! hehe :D

I'll wait to more people write their experiences.

P.S. I am glad everything went well for you. However, this could be a sick joke to bring pain to the rest of us girls. ;)

honestly, i don't think i'd have the nerve to yank that strip off myself!! lol! goes back to a bad waxing experiment that my friend tried on my armpit! bruising, practically internal bleeding! lol!!
Ouch, armpits are too thin skinned for wax!

For me, going to a salon and having it done would be a little bit embarrasing. But I now live in small town where talk is cheap. I don't want to be the subject of gossip for the locals lol... I can do it in about 20 minutes at home for a few dollars each time.

SurgiWax doesn't use strips of any kind. It comes in a cup that you heat it in the microwave, and you can do several small patches at a time with the supplied popsicle-type sticks. Quarter sized is good. Let them cool completely, and pull them off quickly while holding your skin taught. Much like pulling off a bandaid fast to get it over with quickly. (Never use it on your labia, that does hurt!... touch up daily with a razor there instead!)

slhb mentioned that 1/4 inch of growth is the best for waxing. For me, it's about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks growth after shaving, I've never taken a ruler to it. If the hair is too long, though, it hurts like hell. You need to trim it first if you've never shaved or waxed before. Just don't trim it too close, or the wax will have nothing to adhere to.

Shaving, especially in hot weather where you may sweat a bit down there always irritated my skin. Ingrown hairs from shaving can happen any time of year, though. I've never had an ingrown hair from waxing. When the hair starts to regrow, it's downy soft, almost like baby's hair.

Chittylove, it sounds like you had a great experience at the salon that did your waxing, and love the results. It feels so wonderful to touch, doesn't it? So nice for him too. My s/o shaves, we love not getting a mouthful or noseful of hair during those special moments.

secretlybad, the first time is the worst because it's a new sensation to you. I've been waxing about a year now, and it gets easier every time as long as you hair is the right length. Removing the wax is a non-issue now, it's like brushing my teeth. It doesn't bother me at all. If you keep the end results in mind, there's always a reason to smile and forget about any discomfort. With time, it becomes a routine with little pain associated with it. Honest ;)

i definitely see your point in why you don't get it done in a salon where you live....i wouldn't either  those women sure like to talk!!

you are definitely brave to do it yourself! there are certain areas that i would need someone else to pull on! funny you thought the labia was painful.....my (one) experience was that it was the least painful spot! i found the front, and the hood just above the clit were the most painful! definitely, those places are when i would need someone else to do it!

thanks so much, arden for sharing ........and yes....i love the feel of it ;) it definitely makes touching even more enjoyable!!!

Try me ! I like to live dangerously !:p

and if thats you in your avatar....you can include a pic of those beautiful breasts too! ! !:D

My experience...

I just had a French bikini wax done yesterday. Went in w/ the intent to do a Brazilian, but I didn't go all the way w/ it. Partly 'cause it was a bit too intense pain-wise for me...didn't help that next week is "period week." That's the WORST time to get waxed, tattooed, etc..... Whoops

I'm a little tender and such today, was worse last night, but the most tender spot was right above the pubic bone...OUCH. I have had just regular bikini waxes done before where they just remove a bit of hair on the sides of the labia and on the thighs.

The difference between that and a French bikini wax and a Brazilian (according to my esthetician (sp?) is that the Brazilian takes EVERYTHING off....whereas the French leaves the labia and anus hair. Maybe I'll work my way up to a Brazilian one day. for now, I like the French bikini.... However, I do like the waxing, it's much nicer than shaving every day or 3 and it's SMOOOOOOTH! :D

hi cricket~!
isn't the smoothness wonderful? i'm sorry you had a painful experience. i agree, just above the pubic bone was the worst pain.......and just above the clit. believe it or not, when i had mine done, the labia and anus didn't hurt at all. i had thought that those places would hurt the most, but it was just the opposite. that damn tweezing was more uncomfortable than when those areas were waxed. as for the aftermath, if you had any sort of redness and/or bumps (hives), i found that "bikini zone" helped a great deal......and lots of moisturizing.

so far, 1.5 weeks later, exfoliating and moisturizing everyday, i've had no problems with ingrowns. i exfoliate with those gloves that you can just get at the drug store......was told that you need the rougher texture, not the softer exfoliants. peach fuzz is starting......can't wait till the next appointment!:D

How long did it take for the redness/hives/swelling to go down? And how long before new hair started to show?

my experience.....

redness/hives after a day or two.....with the help of bikini zone
new hairs about a week.....but it's super soft and way finer than before.....i suspect with more waxing, it will last even longer and get even finer.....

still better than shaving which leaves a constant five o'clock shadow! lol :D

I get the redness when I have my eyebrows done. How does this compare? The word HIVES is really scaring me!

this may be off topic but what are the negatives and benfits of a brazilan wax? I've been thinking about getting it done so I can wear string bikinis :)

not sure about eyebrows cherry, i pluck mine! but i'm sure that it's pretty similar though.......

hehe....don't be scared about the hives....it only lasts a day and it's not serious! just don't be showing it off or go tanning the first day! i have a feeling that the first time is the worst for hives as the skin and hair follicles are in shock! i'm going back in a couple of weeks for my second waxing and will know for sure! take a benedryl before you go and that will avoid any hives (that's what i was told by my esthetician).
