Thank you for all of your warm welcomes. To be honest, It feels so nice inside this thread.

The day is pleasant, my writing is coming along, and it feels great just to be able to enjoy the day.

No, I haven't posted any here. I am working on a story for a contest through the writing group I am involved with. It's more along the lines of sensual romance.

I have all of my ideas together inside my head, now I just need to set them free. lol Sometimes that's not always easy.

It does feel good to relax, yes?

I usually keep a notebook or note cards w/all the different ideas I have for one story. Discard things that don't tie in, and keep things that flow nicely.

It's funny you mentioned that. Just recently I started doing that as well. If I see something that touches me or something I find interesting or just plain old silly, I try to write about it in a few sentences.

Even if nothing comes of it, it's still a memory just waiting to be explored.

I love to write. I haven't posted anything at Lit, but I have contemplated it. Perhaps one day. Poetry tends to flow from me, with no thought or reason behind it. Short stories never really work out well for me, because I tend to be long-winded. lol

I have several notebooks with just ideas in them. A passing thought, a story idea, something that has inspired me. I read through them occasionally when I am blocked. It helps to get the creative juices flowing again, exploring tangents and such. Plus I have learned to always have pen and paper readily available. I keep paper near my bed, because I will have lucid dreams about something I am wanting to explore and need to write it down right away. Funny how those great thoughts that can never be forgotten will be long gone with the dawning of the morning sun. lol

Oh, I know exactly what you mean, capricious_chic. They are the ideas you don't want to get away because they came from your subconscious. Somehow they mean something very important and are begging for release.

What makes me laugh, though, is while I'm in the shower I get to thinking and I try to remember those thoughts by saying them over and over while I'm washing. If anyone heard me they would think I'd gone completely mad. lol

I do love poetry, too, and how it tells a story in such a different way. All of the feelings and emotions are there, it's like reading a whole book, seeing the true picture, from a shorter perspective. The emotional impact is undeniable.

I've had so much fun spending time with you today, capricious_chic. Thank you so very much. I will try to come back later.

i'm well, love -- tho i surely wish
the damn rain would give it up.
our kids are all headed out to the clearwater festival for the weekend, and it looks like lots more rain for that.
