I'm all for UHC (I know, I know, Pinko and all that). Here we have PHC, I suppose. Our basic health care needs are met but things like dental, eye glasses, chiropractor are usually covered by private sector insurance aka 'benefits'. For those that don't have 'benefits' there are usually some kind of provincial or federal programs to help ease the cost, where there isn't, a sliding scale is a common practice amongst health care professionals.
