i laugh at the myths which surround nursing babies. i can still remember close female friends and family members reactions when i had decided i would stick to "nature's best" as a source of nurishment for my first baby. SO many expressed concerns regarding such a small breasted woman possibly starving her baby. Both topped the scales with regard to suggested averages for height & weight. After giving birth to my first, 12 years ago, and then the second 6 years ago ... and having nursed each for a minimum of 12 months ... i never completely stopped producing small amounts of breast milk either, shy slave, and as a 32AA, at that.shy slave said:16 yrs after having my youngest son, if aroused, I can still produce that stuff.
Many people over the years have called me a 'cow' I think they must mean because I can still lactate on now and then

I think it's pretty common for women to produce milk so much longer than needed. At least my mom did, now almost everyone here says they do. So probably your pretty normal (at least in that respectgraceanne said:I'm also a human cow. I've not stopped producing breast milk since I had my oldest. That's been seven years. My OBGYN says I'm just weird.

The same holds true for men...Evil_Geoff said:Betticus.... invest in a nice cupping set. You can get non-nursing women to lactate if you work at it... *evil grin*

Well .. i'm sure some may. i can only speak of *my* own experiences here, however.redelicious said:If a mom leaks a lot and has a hard time staying dry, then yeah she may notice an odor. Luckily for most it's temporary until their bodies adjust.

I always found that mine had the scent of things i ate or drank. i had to drink this malt drink with number two to build up my milk and it is similar to beer w/out the alcohol. My milk smelled like beer all the time.graceanne said:I always thought it smelled kinda sweet. I kinda liked the smell. But, then, I have a really sensitive nose. I can tell things like the heats on, by the smell. Warm air smells different than cool air. I can also tell when it's going to rain - the air smells different.
