Netzach said:Um so. Casino Royale. CBT and naked interrogations - who said the post-Thanksgiving hollywood movie has to suck?
neonflux said:Aside - La Femme Nikita *big sighhhhhhhh*
Back to the topic - was already eager to see the film, reviews here are just confirming that its well worth seeing...
Netzach said:THAT was my biggest beef of all. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
Ok please though, your interpretations:
when M rolls over in bed to answer the phone...
is that a cut young stud shoulder next to her in the background or a middle-aged spouse? Please confirm the former for me? How cool is that?

I saw the film last night and enjoyed it all, it did drag toward the end. I am about half way through the book (audio) and could see it's tracks all over the place. Having the girl in the middle of the road that caused him to flip was a great touch - in the book it was tire spikes. Texas Hold-en? Give me a break!
I loved that he got so frustrated that the CIA gut had to stop him and talk him down from killing the bad guy with that steak knife.
And the CBT stuff was great. He showed pain, and sweat and "in your faceness" very well.
My nuts still hurt and all I did was watch - must be body memory hee hee
LunarKitten said:It was impression that he was a spouse - otherwise she would not have brought up top secret stuff in the middle of the night with him right there.
Curiousity: Do you think if MI6ers want to have a one night stand they have to have the people cleared before they take them home?
LunarKitten said:Master made fun of me after movie cause I cringed when he totaled the car and made the comment that he should have run over the girl instead.
SpectreT said:If it follows the book, that half hour wasn't wasted, though. Movie Bond's been a serial womanizer and misogynist, a charming misanthrope. That half hour, again, if it followed the book, shows part of where that came from.
Damaged and abused romanticism.
Shankara20 said:From the book:
La Chiffre waited for his eyes to open.
"You see, dear boy? He smiled a soft, fat smile. "Is the position quite clear now?"
A drop of sweat fell off Bond's chin on to his naked chest.
"Now let us get down to business and and see how soon we can be finished with this unfortunate mess you have got yourself into." He puffed cheerfully at his cigarette and gave an admonitory tap on the floor beneath Bond's chair with his horrible and incongruous instrument. (in the book it was a cane carpet-beater)
"My dear boy," Le Chiffre spoke like a father, "the game of Red Indians is over, quite over. You have stumbled by mischance into a game for grown-ups and you have already found it a painful experience. You are not equipped, my dear boy, to play games with adults and it was very foolish of your nanny in London to have sent you out here with your spade and bucket. Very foolish indeed and most unfortunate for you."
reading that I so want a boi-toy, naked, tied down to a bench, to speak those words too as I reach for my toy bag.....
*sigh*
Bredon said:*faints*-- now I have to read the book too, Shankara-- I never knew that Bond was queer porn--
I just came back from the movie and am surprised to say that I loved it a bit![]()
I'm thinking--
" My name is James---- James... Bottom"![]()

Bredon said:I'm shocked to say that I didn't cringe at all(apart from the general "torture is bad" amnesty type feelings)--
I would really like to take your offer to sit in that chair, but two problems present themselves--
a. I don't have nuts (being ftm)
b. I'm irreversibly dom, dear lad...

LunarKitten said:...I loved it! I had gotten so tired the goofy gadets and scifi type plots *rolls eyes* I love going back to it being a more hard boiled detective/mystery/spy thriller type of film...
Bredon said:M Wisdom-- I felt like they were knowing that everybody has seen those 20 films (several times), and they were playing with expectancies, and often making jokes about certain Bond patterns-- it was like-- they bowed to the tradition, by only by the way-ish, and with toungue in ceek, while trying to rejuvenate the product and connect it more to the original novel Bond. And concentrate on characters. While I was bored by the Brosnan movies, I actually enjoyed this Bond as much as the Connery films.
Might have to do with bottom Bond though...![]()

Bredon said:I somewhat liked it that it was so loooong---
Shankara--- I'm waiting![]()
Bredon said:Is the delay giving me a justification to get out the whip, I wonder...(solving all problems at once).
