Lockheed made mess after mess on the F 35 , cost over runs as usual killed acquisition....check out the latest F 35 cuts. We are still building F 15 s and F 16 and judging from what I have seen they may be good enough to defeat the Russians. The Chinese version looks like a combination of various US designs which they undoubtably stole.
