So I came across this article from 1968, Correlates of Heterosexual Somatic Preference, that studied which personality types preferred large vs small breasts, large vs small butts, and long vs short legs. I think it's an interesting idea, and I'd love for someone to do a new study with more variables, but I figured I'd post the summaries and see whether it's any sort of indicator. I'll post the descriptions here, and in the next post, I'll say which is which. Might be interesting. There are four groups:

Figure: Large vs small. Large means big everything, small means small everything. In the study, there's also a "standard" figure, but since that's most preferred, and associated with being heterosexual and disorganized, I'd rather keep it out and test predictive qualities better.
Breasts: Large vs small
Buttocks: Large vs small
Legs: Large vs small. Large here is long, rather than thick, and small is short.

I'll post them in groups, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Pick the one in each group that you feel fits you best, and then note down whether you prefer large or small figure, breasts, buttocks, and legs. Compare in the next post, and check how many matched.

Group 1
A) The most substantial correlate of this preference is an abstinence from alcoholic beverages as indicated by the negative correlation with both drinking and amount of drinking. Those who preferred these are nonaggressive and self-abasing (guilty, self-blaming). They tend to be psychologically minded (intraceptive) and are characterized by a slow personal tempo. Subjects who preferred these indicated that they are not business majors and that they would choose their mother over their father if they had to make a choice. The personality pattern suggested by these correlates is one of inhibition and restraint in social situations.
B) Whereas preference for A was associated with social inhibition and restraint, preference for these is characterized by a strong need for social participation. Those who preferred these are characterized by needs for nurturance, affiliation, and exhibitionism. That is, they are helpful to others, feel a need for social participation, and like to be the center of attention in social situations. They are also socially dependent and tend not to stick at a task until completed. They smoke, but tend not to drink, and read sports magazines rather than Playboy magazine. The interpersonal patterns of inhibition and participation appear to be rather consistently associated with preferences for A and B, respectively.

Group 2
A) A lack of orality is suggested by the negative correlation with both alcohol use (drink versus not drink) and amount of alcohol consumed. Those who preferred these tend to hold fundamentalist religious beliefs and to be mildly depressed. In contrast to those who preferred B, those who preferred A are nurturant in their relations with others. They are not cynical about authority and come from large, nonworking-class families. They are lacking in achievement motivation and are indefinite about career plans. As a group, they tend to be engineering rather than business majors. The constellation of interests, values, and personality characteristics associated with A preference stands in dramatic contrast to the characteristics associated with B preference.
B) In general, it appears that those who preferred these see all female body parts as "strong" and "good." Also characterizing this preference was a tendency to date frequently, to have masculine interests, and to read sports magazines. Further, this preference was related to a need for heterosexual contact and for exhibitionism (saying witty things and being the center of attention). In social relations, men who preferred these tend to be nonnurturant and independent. This latter result gives support to Scodel's (1957) finding of a lack of fantasy dependence among college men who preferred these. In the present study, preference for these was positively correlated with smoking and negatively correlated with endurance (perseverance in work habits). Those who preferred slightly B tend not to be from the upper class and to be relatively free of fears and worries. As might be expected, those who preferred very B were readers of Playboy magazine. In this connection, it should be noted that subjects were not directly asked if they read any particular magazine, but were asked to list those magazines that they read regularly. It is therefore all the more striking that the foregoing constellation of interests, values,
and personality characteristics associated with this preference bears such a resemblance to the "image" of the reader of Playboy projected in the "playboy philosophy" (Hefner, 1963) and in the promotional efforts of this publication.

Group 3
A) Those who preferred this tend to persevere in their work. They are not cynical about authority and reported coming from an upper-class background. Although this was generally disliked by the present group of subjects (Table 1), it very well may be a preferred type among members of the upper class (Moore, Stunkard, & Srole, 1962) as suggested by the present data.
B) Preference for this was associated with a need for achievement. Men who preferred this reported that they drink alcoholic beverages.

Group 4
A) Preference for these was characterized by a need for order (neatness, organization, orderliness). Those who preferred these tend to be business majors (accounting?) and tend not to be psychologically minded. In social situations, they are dependent and given to self-abasement (guilty, self-blaming). Their value orientation tends not to be stoic in nature. This constellation of orderliness, passivity, dependence, non-stoicism, and guilt is somewhat reminiscent of the "orderliness frugality-obstinancy" syndrome of the "anal character" described by Freud (1948) and later psychoanalytic writers (Abraham, 1966; Fenichel, 194S; Jones, 1913).
B) Unlike those who preferred A, those who preferred B tend not to be self-abasing. They tend to persevere in the completion of their work and do not feel the need to be the center of attention. As a group they tend not to be education majors and their reading interests do not include sports magazines. Those who preferred this reported that they were breast fed as infants.

And here's the key... Make sure you finish before scrolling down and biasing results.

1A) large legs
B) small legs

2A) small breasts
B) large breasts

3A) small figure
B) large figure

4A) large buttocks
B) small buttocks

As for me, I matched 3/4. The only one it was off on was buttocks. I like them a bit bigger.

I'm betting there was no lesbian correlation here? I mean, this is for guys only and how they like women, right?

In 1968 homosexuality was an official mental disorder, so what lesbians prefer was as relevant as what Hannibal Lecter prefers.
