Which is worse...

1) Getting the crap beaten out of you?

or

2) Getting the crap beaten out of your heart?

BTW - I voted for heart being worse - its had enough abuse already.

Agreed. The heart is worse.

Physical wounds heal. "The Other Kind" might never do so.

I said getting the crap beat out of me because I'm a baby when it comes to pain. I'll take the heartbreak, I can deal with that better.

The heart. As someone before me said, the body heals much quicker.

Exactly. Plus, the heart doesn't heal as cleanly as the body does. It can scar much worse.

Right now it looks like 25 people have never had the crap beaten out of them.

You'd be surprised Never. Count the physical scars.

I've been hit but I've healed, even with a scar (I'm not talking about extreme scarring) it fades, to a degree, over time.. you become "use" to it and barely realize you have it any longer.

But to have your heart battered and beaten.. sometimes that pain never leaves you. It can be found in a look, the sound of laughter, a poem and a dream. There are constant reminders of that pain and loss.

Eh- I'd still rather my girlfriend dump me than dump me in intensive care.

I would rather get the crap beaten out of my heart.
It seems to be pretty resilient.

As for the crap being beaten out of my body?
No thanks, I never want to repeat those experiences
again.

I've had both, and while my body has healed, and I've pretty much forgotten the pain of the beating, the heart still bears scars.

Getting the crap kicked out of me physically is an avocation.

The only problem is I tend to be the one doing most of the kicking.
