My grandfather has a colostomy bag, and i dont pick up any smell at all, it has a carbon filter to let excess (cleaned) gas out, it also has quite advanced seals to prevent any accidents.

yes they can be visible, but they can also be pretty well hidden, depending on body-frame, clothing etc.

I think people with colostomies have this sort of thing pretty well sorted, after all they live with it 24/7

you are correct if they choose to do this.......the one customer that comes into my shop has a small bag that she wears when she is going out and if she stays out too long before it is emptied it can smell......at least that is what she told me.......

That is all I know about it......

The advise from onesublimeguy.....sounds really good.....I copied that and will keep it just in case......thanks

I was a supervisor a long time ago, early 80's and a very large woman as one of my employee's. She had an operation, I believe they call it stapling the stomach. Well she lost weight but had an excessive amount of loose skin.

Although this operation was somewhat successful for her, her body emitted a foul smell through her pores that reminded me of decaying human flesh.

I took her aside and told her basically my last paragraph. Your body is emitting a foul odor through your pores and something has to be done. She had the audacity to ask me what it smelled like. I told her it reminded me of decaying human flesh. Yes she was humiliated but what could I do. I had to tell her for the sake of the other employees in the department, 145 of them. I did this without the help of HR and I also documented the discussion as well.

Suck it up employer, manager, supervisor and do your duty. Tell her.

If he is the boss then it gets tricky. If not tell him to go the HR department and have them tell her. That is the best way.
Other than that I think you should make sure that every thing is done as legal as possible.
