So was reading up on military jargon and came across this reference for BOCOD. Is this a real thing or just internet myth?

BOCOD

an acronym for “beat-off cutoff date.” this term is widely used by people who spend long periods of time away from home to define the point after which they will not m-st-rb-t- before returning home. for example, if a person is due to rotate home on the 20th of the month and they have a personal two-week bocod, they will cease masturbating after the 6th.

Never heard of that. Maybe it’s something new in the last 20 years, but doesn’t seem likely.

Edit: it could be used as something that a particular unit or command does as tradition. There are lots of weird little things like that that are specific to a duty station.

It makes sense for military people.

I have never heard of it for that, but I have heard about it for couples who live together, but then decide to get married. Typically, the bride-to-be suggests no sex, and no masturbating, to make it "special" for their wedding night. I have heard of that...
