Board games

They're not board games, but do kids still play 'Old Maid', 'Hearts' and 'Go Fish'?

When my daughter was little, she loved a board game called 'Uncle Wiggly' about a rabbit. I wonder if they still make that one?
My siblings and I used to play Uncle Wiggly all the time. But I think my childhood was traumatized by nightmares of the Skeezicks and the Pipsisiwah.

No mention of Diplomacy? Or if there was one, I missed it. And I'd say Chess is at the top of any board game hierarchy. Those two are by far my favorites.

I love board games! Although if I'm playing Monopoly, that really should be spelled "bored" games.

To make Parcheesi a bit more interesting, my husband and I play Mercenary Parcheesi. We each have our own colors and one additional team. We each take turns moving the extra team which adds a new element to the game.

I'm in charge of the study hall at my grade school. Each Friday since most of the time the teacher doesn't assign homework, we have game day. I keep a selection of board games suitable for fifth and sixth graders and they get to chose their own and play for that forty-five minutes. The kids look forward to game day all week.

Diplomacy, yes--and Risk. And Gettysburg.

We have a world geography game from National Geographic that is educational as well as fun.

Not a risk fan but got into Stratego for awhile.

Battleship is another classic.

Connect four was stupid as hell but to this day that corny commercial where the brother says "Really sneaky move sis!" is somehow stuck in my head.
