So the second part of my story is about done. One of my readers volunteered to beta read part 2 for me to help me find my grammatical errors.

I saw he was in my docs tonight reading it, and couldn't resist sending him a message asking what he thought so far.

I was blown away by his response, because I really dont think I am very good.

Lol! Sorry, I should have contacted you earlier. I just started earlier this evening, only finding a few very minor things so far I think I’m about half way thru and won’t get finished tonight. So far I’m impressed. You definitely have a talent in writing stories, maybe a second career?? You should be finished sometime tomorrow’ barring anything popping up not planned. Sorry I got such a late start but sometimes life has a way of throwing off the best made plans. Rest assured, I think you’ve got an even better story.

Curb your enthusiasm. Writing is supposed to be hard work. And even if you don't find it hard work, pretend. Keep going like this and you'll give the rest of us a bad name.

Yeah, we haven't read it so we don't know for sure but hold onto that nugget for your ego, it'll probably need it later. I've been told I'm one of the best writers on Literotica, a fucking huge compliment. And I've been told that I should die rather than write another story. So...

Years ago when a friend and I were creating cartoon strips he got angrily shouted at across the street that “ it hasn’t so much as raised a smile”.

Sometimes the insulting comments can be as much fun as the complimentary ones.

Yeah in reality I think I really still suck.

But to have one person say that makes the work worth it. I know there is plenty of shade coming my way as well.

I don't think I'm very good either, but I've been fortunate to find a group of regular readers who enjoy reading about the kinks that I enjoy writing about, so you don't have to be great to find writing here to be a fulfilling venture.
Wishing you all the best!

You'll have those who love your story with comments such as "Great story, loved it!", and those who hate that same story with "Eat shit and die!"

Enjoy the fact you have some fans and ignore the haters. Some are there solely to hate.

Wow! The rare IRL Troll, that might be something to add to a science journal. The proximity people have to be to you before they can take their Human Mask off and reveal their Troll face. I've found more enjoyment in the "bad" comments now. Since I've come to terms with the idea that I'm not ever going to be a professional writer. Or maybe just the years have given me a thicker skin? Or maybe randomly seeing writers that I think are the best on Literotica getting the same type of bad comments? Whatever is the reason it doesn't destroy me anymore, like they used to. And I have laughed at some Troll comments, because they're so far past ridiculous.

Yeah in reality I think I really still suck.
Nah! Not suck. Are we going to get awards and change the thinking of the planet? Fuck no. But if we make somebody horny? Get their juices flowing? With our fucking words? That's something. That makes it worth while. If you discount 50% of the Views on your story, people just clicking in and then deciding it's not for them and clicking away... That's still like a hundreds if not thousands of people! Not many out there can say they turned on thousands of people. An even smaller group can claim they did that with their mind, their words.

Always good to hear some praise, but I try to use the analogy of scoring a touch down. You have the idiots who jump up and down, do stupid dances and carry on, then you have the players who just drop the ball, or hand it to the ref, maybe a fist pump to the crowd.

In other words, act like you've been there before, and will be again, don't gush, and don't brag, and don't get caught up.

Its a safe bet everyone here is like Duleigh, we've been told we're the best to ever do it as well as being told to fuck off and die in various creative ways.
