According to Wiki:

Spam (Stupid-Pathetic-Annoying-Message) is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately.

Further, in the forum definition:

Newsgroup spam is a type of spam where the targets are Usenet newsgroups. Spamming of Usenet newsgroups actually pre-dates e-mail spam. Usenet convention defines spamming as excessive multiple posting, that is, the repeated posting of a message (or substantially similar messages).

He's not selling anything, but I'd say what he was doing qualified. Then again, I'm not Laurel or Manu.

and I thought that SPAM came from the canned meat SPAM ...

Wow, just buzzed quickly through Etoile's stuff. I had no idea she was an internet detective.

OUTED.

Nice work, E.

Okay, I deserve a big fat thank you for having to remove Blardo from my ignore list...

While I will say "Thank you" for the un-ignore and search, maybe the mass-ignore I missed is why I'm the only one who's noticed his "Seeking my Beloved" topic in the BDSM Personals.

Maybe so. Peek and ye shall bind, I always say.

So I have just read Bloved's story, all 3 parts and I see no point why it shouldnt be in the BDSM section. It's a beautiful story about Master and his slave and I really loved reading it!

Bloved has so much to say, he really does. You should give it a chance and read the whole story, it's really very well writen. Master/slave dynamic and full of love as well. Just as I love it.

Keep on writing, Bloved. Really love your story! :rose::)

There, you see? And BiaTcHiNFiRe has no fear whatsoever of saying something like this. She hasn't insulted the entire forum by saying it.

No, I mentioned it somewhere right after it went up - in this thread probably? I didn't reply to it, though.

9. Flooding the forum with posts, screen-breaking text, or images - or bumping old threads - and/or any non-substantive activity with the intent of disrupting the forum is prohibited.

11. Please post content in the appropriate forum. We do not believe in censorship, but your posts will be moved or removed if you do not read the forum title before hitting "SUBMIT". Personal ads should be posted in the "Personals" forum, story ideas in the "Story Ideas" forum, BDSM issues in the BDSM forum, random nonsense on the General Board, and so on.

Can he be banned now?

We know...*sigh*

Only Laurel and Manu can ban people.

What's funny is I can guarantee this is EXACTLY what he did as "wulf" years ago and what he did at all those other sites to get banned.

~yawn~

Come up with something original. Please.

short of everyone reporting every post, is there anything that can be done to get this to happen?

Okay. Here's the deal guys.

He's NOT going to get banned, no matter what WE want, and no matter how many rules he breaks on the forum. I've spoken to Laurel and she's made it quite clear that even though he IS breaking forum rules in OUR eyes, to her, she doesn't see how disruptive and abusive he is being.

I personally think that he's abusing the system, but our lovely site owners don't feel the same way.

According to them, we should ALL just "ignore" him and hope that the problem goes away.

So....I'd like to ask a favor...out of all of you.

Please, everyone, let's STOP talking about him. Completely. Let's stop mentioning his name, let's stop posting in this thread and ALL his other threads. The people who don't use the ignore function? Well, please, for this board's sake, do so. Break your "code of honor" or whatever it is that's keeping you from using it, and just put him on ignore.

If the WHOLE BOARD can cooperate on this, and COLLECTIVELY pretend that he doesn't exist and never did, then eventually, he will get bored out of talking to himself, and HE WILL GO AWAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS WILL WORK IS IF EVERYONE WORKS TOGETHER.

We need to do this for the health and sanity of this board.

Please. Let's just stop posting about him, talking about him, mentioning him. Let's just...ignore him. For real.

Reporting every post only sends it to the mods by email. The mods are MIA, so reporting won't do anything.

And there probably isn't anything to do to get him banned. The ignore button is starting to look like an attractive option.

Yup, the Usenet posts I dug up from 1996/1997 indicate that he is doing the exact same thing now that he did then.

I personally feel it's irresponsible for a mod to use the ignore button; if I did, he could wreak havoc in my section and I'd never know it.

However, I will be putting him on my mental ignore list from this point forward. I promise.

You are a mod, so it's totally different. I understand that you can't put him on your ignore list. However, there are several people who have bragged about never using the ignore function even once, no matter how long they've been here.

I think for a situation as problematic as this, it's TIME.
