I have a question about the level of bruising or bleeding you can take when it comes to bondage.

What can you take? Do you prefer padded shackles? Just metal shackles? Soft or rough rope? Silk?

Do any of you like the kinds of bindings that bring on bruising or bleeding?

Just curious.

I'm really quite pathetic when it comes to bondage. I like to keep my pain a separate entity from my pinions. Whatever is soft yet won't yield or unknot easily is what I'll use, and earn my bruises elsewhere.

My leather cuffs are lined with sheepskin. (purchased on e-bay) I prefer my bruises elsewhere also.

I'm different.. I don't really get INTO bondage, unless it hurts. I mean, I enjoy being tied up non-painfully for whippings, and what-not, but I prefer to come out of it with bruised or raw, or even bloodied wrists. It's just something that makes a tangible memory.. later on, I can rub the wrists, and still feel delicious pain, and remember how I earned those bruises or rawness...

I never had many bondage fantasies and I was more into the pain/humiliation aspect, but I was in a session where I was given a simple rope harness... across the chest and shoulders and between the thighs... it was very simple and not painful in the least though there was a tightness in the chest that made me aware of my breathing being slightly restricted.

I went under very deep with the sound of her voice... I was also in cuffs and spreader bar on ankles and wrists and she just had me lie back into the bondage hanging from the ceiling.. she rocked me with the harness and simply spoke to me and I was completely sunk!

So, although I would agree with you about the pain, etc. I was proved entirely wrong. The feel of the rope was very sensual and she was definitely aware of how to use it but there was no pain, no marks, etc. and it was very intense.

We also have lined leather cuffs, which works out quite well for whatever follows being put into them.

Mine are soft latigo leather that wrap 2 times around before they buckle. Matching wrist and ankle. I don't want her to feel anything except the tug of resistance if she struggles.

No. If the wrists are bleeding, then your bondage is too tight. Though I like bondage, I don't believe in pain or anything that could be hazardous. I use those velcro straps that is comfortable around the wrists yet secure so you can't get loose.

Mental note :thank Master for using soft restraints:

I enjoy being tied up because it reminds me that I am no longer in control; however if marks are left I prefer it to be because of a spanking or Master's passion, not from the restraints.

We prefer that bondage not be damaging. I just like to give the feel of immobility, not the bite of a thin strip of metal which can be damaging.

Personally I'm leary of anything less then 1/2 inch wide across the wrists. You don't want to damage them, they're very sensitive.

We have fuzzy tiger cuffs ... home made with velcro closure. We need to make the matching ankle cuffs, but Karen won't sew them for me *pouts*

Being a painslut i want restraints to hurt. i have actually found myself pulling and tugging to tighten them or make them pinch or rub uncomfortably. Not real an on purpose kind of thing, didnt realize till Master told me to stop...more then once

I like padded shackles and I love the feel of silk, particularly
against my face.. but I rather like a bit of pain. I like to feel
sore and maybe even a little raw. Not to the point of bleeding,
but just achy, something to remember it by.

So while I like the softer materials, I also like to pull against
them enough to make myself sore. Can't help wanting to
test how well he's got me tied up. ;)

I have metal cuffs and hard leather wrist restraints - I've also used soft lined cuffs. And I must say, I prefer the hard leather and metal cuffs.
I also like to be able to feel the pain of any restraints and see the evidence later on....

I like to fight, I want to know that my restraints are going to hold, or else its just not "real" I don't usually get into terribly fancy bondage, just handcuffs, shakles, and rope, and I much prefer the rope, I love the raw feel of it agianst my soft skin, I love the way it stings and burns afterwards, I love when he puts me in his lap and kisses the spots tenderly over and over afterward...

I like both. Like Vixen I love the marks -- each type of restraint has their purpose. I personally love bondage -- any kind of bondage, I feel safest when bound, guess that might be a little strange but I really do. Secure in my tethers, really really love it. With rope bondage I love it being tight enough that it leaves rope marks for a few hours. It shouldn't be too tight, enough to cause permanent damage, but I love to feel the marks because it is a reminder of Master. Soft can be quite sensual too, but for me it really depends on what use Master has of me at the time. Master likes to be rougher/harder anyway so that's what we enjoy.
