I was checking my messages on Gmail last night when a text ad for the following site caught my eye and said something along the lines of "Earn $1000 or more from writing online!"

Here's the site: Blogit

I was skeptical, to say the least. Has anyone heard of this place, or tried it out? What's all the fuss about, and more importantly, is it a scam of the GROUPMVP variety?

Any place that has only links to a submit button and the terms of service and privicy statement looks like it's fishing for email addresses. Under the new laws in the US spammers who don't have a business relationship with the spammee can be fined upto $1,000 per spammee. So now it looks like they may be fishing for valid email addy's to continue to spam. You fill that in and you now have a business relationship with them.

Or I could be all wet and not know what I'm talking about.

Either way I wouldn't give them an email addy that I needed for other things.

After reading the terms of use, it's a scam. You pay them $9.95 a month to host your blogit and they get all rights to whatever you write there. Sounds fishy to me!

I got an email at another of my email addresses about that site, when I researched it, I found out it's a legit site but there is now way I'm paying to write. I'd rather let people read my stuff for free then pay to write it.

That's that, then. Thanks for the advice. I'll have to resort to the good old fashioned way instead of these "earn money quick" scams.

After further reading of the terms...this is a pyramid scheme fitted to the internet. If you pay them a small sum each month...the take a small % for admin fee's the rest is divided up amoung the blogers who have been read by you. So if you have a blog and no one reads it, you don't get paid. If you have a lot of people read it, you get a large amount of money.
