Well written article.

Blacks and guns.

Two important points that the author makes.

1. Until the Black "Civil Rights" leaders began to align themselves with the white "progressives" during the 1960's the 2nd amendment was as important to the black community as it was to the white.

2. Virtually all "gun control" legislation up to that time, and more than a little since, was specifically aimed at disarming the black community.

Cue UD to pimp the claim that when Democrats were in favor of "conserving" slavery, then segreation, then seperate but equal, they were conservative despite being conservative in no other way.

Apparently, everyone in the South was so outraged by the Civil Rights Act that they switched party affiliations and voting patterns. They were sort of lazy though 'cause it took them two decades to make the change.

Waiting for the usual infantile Litlib debate tactics...which one will it be?

  • Deflecting
  • Straw Man/Red Herring arguments
  • Attacking the source
  • Attacking the thread starter

I'll take "deflecting" for $500.

Some change.

From the Party of the Ku Klux Kan to the Party of #BlackLiversMatter, Nation of Islam, CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood.

But they still want gun control! Nice to see behind the facade...

Oh, they've just expanded it to include everyone...............except themselves and they highly paid security details.

But, like so many other laws, it won't be enforced in black communities.

That is discrimination and profiling...

I'll go ahead and give you "deflecting" for $500.00.

  • Ish has too many quotation marks in his opening. Those things actually exist and they exist within his own post.
  • What are your thoughts on the subject, miles? Your own thoughts. Please do not attack me or deflect the direct question.

Thank you,

...he asks, while offering none of "his thoughts" on the issue.

You seem adroit at knowing which side of any given issue that your "team" approves of and can link opinion pieces with the best of them, but you are hardly the poster boy for articulating a position, using your own words.

You do your best work when you're yipping along at the back of the pack where you belong. Why not wait until you see what the line of attack is and then jump in? That usually works out better for you.

My apologies. I guess I made the assumption that Ish wanted a debate. He just wanted to post guns and blacks in the same thread title in hopes his hangers-on would find the lighthouse.

Nice one, Ish.

Your commentary on use of apostrophes was "debate?"

Debate, by the way, "exists," and my use of apostrophes in this example are entirely appropriate.

Que, Que, Que....Luk has no actual opinions about anything, silly!

I personally don't see #1 as a viable theory. Blacks gave up their rights to align themselves with progressive whites?

That was fairly impressive at eliciting a ribbet. I don't think I've ever seen him try to opine substantively since that painful attempt to act as Rob's economic guru on energy policy.

A shame he completely missed the point whilst mischaracterizing the OP, but B+ for effort, eh?

In fairness, he does know a lot about Alts....just ask him!

And hair gel.

And the Sleep Number Bed.

And pain.

That generally requires an IQ somewhat above room temperature.

Good morning, Ish.
Do you and the BroPatrol have any thoughts on the article you linked?

There are lots of important points that the author makes, but your personal failure to support a lawful black gun owner (Castile) shows that you and most of the people in this thread are actually part of the problem.

Gun control passed because people like you, Miles, and other racists fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

Since you claimed the bolded above and since I have never seen anything remotely like it claimed by anyone else, perhaps you would like to provide some facts, charts, links or published data to backup your opinion?

Thanks

He's not wrong... Gun control legislation passed in 1939, 1963, and 1968 was all influenced by racist attitudes of the time.

The problem that Ish doesn't see, is that law-abiding black gun owners are still under fire, and he refuses to support them.

So history will repeat itself, because Ish lacks the ability to self-reflect and change.

Go back and read that thread Sparky. Just because someone holds a CCW doesn't automatically mean that they can't, or don't, do stupid things. I have not said a word about Castile's rights to own a firearm or hold a CCW permit. And the case, and investigation, does NOT revolve around either of those issues. The case hinges on behavior, Castile's, the cop, and/or both.

Unfortunately it will probably come down to a 'he (they) said, she said.' And in that instance the GF's prolific Utube postings have done little to bolster her credibility, have they?

I was there. God never made a worse racist than me, but in 1965 I toiled for a black candidate in my state, and he was the first black elected to anything in this state in 100 years. He was an engineer, a military veteran, married, and busted his ass for his black community. He was the best candidate. His white opponents were corrupt mother fuckers, and every racist in our city knew it. We hated crooks more than blacks. No Republican got elected to shit before Nixon.

What changed was: The Democrats sent all the poor white boys and black boys to Vietnam, then spit on us when we came home. It was like now with Democrats and the police. Things go to hell when the fags and gals take over a party.
