I want to write a story about a black woman living in a city where black males have been defeated and expelled by white revolutionaries. Black women are permitted to stay, and many form relationships with victorious white revolutionaries. They’re allowed to marry and form mixed families, they’re also given injections to make sure that they do not give birth to male. I feel like it would be interesting exploring the drama and romance of a story with that theme. Do you think it would be a suitable interracial category story?

Some people might find it interesting if it was done as dark dystopian sci-fi. Someone with far greater capabilities than anything I've seen on Lit could make it work as a morality piece commenting on some aspect of humanity or society.

But I share Rob's opinion: not sexy, not in the slightest. Any romance, even, would have to be doomed, just by the conventions of the genre.

I believe you have already found out interracial is the one kind of erotica story that will get an immediate negative response from a vast majority of the author contributors to the forums. But i am going to take the other side and say, so long as you are abiding by the site rules, yes go ahead and write and publish your story. The (very dark) truth is it sounds like an extrapolation of real life taken to its logical conclusion. So many black men (in the US, at least) are marginalized by so society in so many ways, black women are left largely without intrarace partners. So what if that becomes institutionalized in some dystopian regime? I am going to presume you are going to write from the pov of a black female main character in such a situation. Then yes, there is a lot of legitimate drama to explore. It sounds like many a noncon story. A lot, but not all, of which are written from the subjugated’s pov.

My thoughts exactly. While it may be quite a dystopian narrative, one that brings to the fore the kinds of contextual issues we're facing today, and have been facing for some time now (consider the genetic engineering practiced by Mussolini, etcetcetc) the romance element does seems like a bit of a stretch...still, if it is a story you want to tell...go for it!
