If I hadn't dated white women I would have been a virgin into my 20s.

Apparently in my late 20s the ghettofied populace finished dying out or got locked up in jail and I started running into more receptive people in my "community", so I started making my way "back home".

Society says black men date white women to "trade up" or because of the "angel fetish", but I say that's bullshit.

I guess there is a second reason that I've dated more White women: my high school was about 10% Black, my college about 3%. There just aren't a lot of cute Black girls around me.

Having no first or second hand knowledge on the subject, I'd guess this is often the case. It's hard enough for straight white people to find a date sometimes; limiting yourself by race could certainly make things almost impossible.

I'm not saying that White women say "yes" more often than Black women, I'm just saying "because it's there." Why date them? Because they agree to date me. Why not?

Thought I suspect that my characteristics make me more appealing to White women than Black women.

But they all have their weaknesses. I wish I had more than one skeleton key when I was younger. There were some fine azzed babes I just couldn't get at. If only I was more of a flirter. Maybe it was for the best though.

Oh I see what you mean now. The reason I could not get to the fine azzed babes were for several reasons:

1. Lack of self confidence

2. Lack of flirting skills

3. Lack of hot looks

4. Lack of money

5. Small penis

6. Lack of a car

7. Living with my mother and brother

8. Shitty job

All of these things did not help when I was dating. I did not realize it at the time, and I blamed it all on the women being snobs. That was not the case at all in retrospect.

I was a loser, and nobody likes dating a loser.

I am neither black, nor male, but I wonder if popular culture in America has anything to do with it. If you're a kid who's innundated day in and day out with images of white models as the beauty ideal and maybe one or two images of black models who still fit that mold (for diversity, yanno), that's bound to influence your standard of beauty.

Now, what makes it even funnier is honesty seemed to hurt me more than it helped. When I dated, they would ask me questions (dating is a lot like an interview) and I would answer honestly.

Here was one I will not forget. She was 19, lived with her parents, did not have any money but had it going on in the brains and booty dept. It did not matter if she were poor and living with mom and dad. I just wanted to bone her. Anyway, we met and we sat down at a local fast food joint (Notice the dating blunders so far? Sure you do).

"What do you do for a living?"

"I am a homemaker."

"What do you do for fun?"

"I play bass guitar and art."

"...blah blah blah about my ex. Tell me your stories, blah blah blah..."

"I never dated before, nor have I ever had sex."

I'm one of those black guys that feels a huge sigh of relief when a black girl dates white guys cause then it's like "Hey, we broke even".

I know my biggest guilt comes with the elders giving the "You couldn't find a black woman!?"

She's got problems, too. I cracked a nut like that once. She looked really good but was a horrible lay. Plus she was high maintenance.
