Le donne che bisbigliare l'italiano controlleranno gli uomini che influenzano il corso alla storia.

None of you should be surprised.

Thats not fair... all I got was it was about women controlling and or influence the course of the tale? ... maybe not even that...

Course of history would be what I was going for, but my grasp on romance languages suffers from a limited perspective (not to mention exposure.)

tswyk, one is willing to venture you have learned all you "need" to already.

My grandmother started all sentences in English and finished them in Italian (Scilian dialect).... generally I could follow the gist of what she was saying.... but I think I should have paid a bit more attention...

Thanks for the explanation... Now I won't worry all day! ;)

Sicily makes some great obscure wines. Nero d'Avola Sicilia Don Antonio 1998 from Morgante (better than the 99) is worth seeking if you like reds done in new oak. They also do sweet wines and some noteworthy Chardonnay in Sicily (even though I prefer most true Italian whites over and Chardonnay.)

Being half Italian I should like and pay more attention to wine.... LOL....

But you know what I do like?

Noveau Beaujoleus (sp?) with a nice hearty pasta and some good thick bread.... the unfinished red goes well with peasant food.... They should be coming in soon... :D

Ah, younger and fruitier, eh? Try Michelle Chiarlo's Barbera D'Asti from around 2000 or '01. A truly noble producer, but in this case a very modestly priced bottle of exquisite italian nectar (many of their better-known offerings run in the $30-$50 range.) But if it's the french stuff you prefer you might try Louis Bernard's Cotes du Rhone choices from 2000, either the "Villages" or the plain rouge, both under $15 and delightful "young" wines.

Thanks for the recommendations... I am afraid that it all may be lost on me though... I grew up taking sips of Grappa made in my Uncle's garage... I am afraid that in spite of all my good qualities I am terribly unsophisticated about wine... but you should have seen what my grandmother did with spiced peaches in that grappa... Heaven...

Ah, grappa - meravigliosamente oscuro! Well, what matters is to know what you like, and to try to keep blood flowing to your brain when Italian's being whispered in your ears...

Maggio tutti i vostri giorni sono quei buoni. Maggio i vostri labbri trovano tanta felicità come portano - entrambe l'accoppiamento. ;)

LOL... you do realize that I have only the a very vague idea of what you are saying?

But I will take it as a complement... until I find out otherwise...;)

May very something something something is very good. May something lips work something truth is important - something is a an accomplishment?

Um... yeah, that's close. Of course, I may have butchered it (don't ask scrymettet about my French, please.) It was wishing you good days, and that your lips find as much joy as they bring (both pair.)
