Bill Belichick; Tom Brady - Best ever coach and QB, respectively

Best at getting caught playing loose with the rules, you mean.
Fuck those douchebags. And Boston.

One place I will never go.

I dont care if Kate Beckinsale calls me up and wants to meet me there to fuck like rabbits and live happily ever after.

Not that town. Never.

I'll debate. Lombardi won five titles in just nine years with the Packers, and he was on his way to turning around the Redskins when he died. And unlike Belichick, he never got fired.

and he wasn't an android.

Lombardi did it with basically one starting lineup. Belickick did it with many.

no, you really can't discount his work with the redskins. it was short lived, but the skins sucked in the 60's even with sonny jurgensen. hell, a quick look says vince's 7-5-2 in 1969 was the best record they'd had since 1955 when they went 8-4 with only one 7-7 and one 6-6 besides with the remainder being losing. so, yeah, it was quite an accomplishment.

also, it annoys me that i've known about this for years and have even read articles and chapters in books about it because i am a giant nerd.

and i still miss my old copy of the hidden game of football. i have no fucking clue what happened to it and that still kinda pisses me off.

It is hard to compare different eras for sure. Hard to even think about Lombardi as anything but the best ever and it is almost painful to admit that he has been surpassed. It was for me, but Belichick has done it IMO.

They both coached up their teams and got more out of them individually then they even thought they could achieve and made the whole vastly more than the sum of the parts. They very thing you point to as Lombardi's key measure, got the most of his teams, Belichick has had to do many times over - almost every season. Lombardi did it twice. Lombardi had no free agency, salary cap or the vastly increased level of responsibility NFL coaches have today. Belichick takes castoffs, 6th rounders, walk-ons and retreads and turns them into champions.

Not taking anything away from Lombardi. He was the best, until now.

Man, that is way harsh. You dissed Kate.

well, remember what happened when the bruins failed to make it on that list in 2012? that. also, those fucking accents are the worst. they make people from philadelphia seem normal.

I am actually one of those few people that don't have the accent. People are surprised by that.

i forget what point i was trying to make, but i really fucking hate people from worcester. i've only known two, but they were both terrible fucking people. also, i just hate that word.

No, what happened?

And as for the accents ... well bless your heart!
