Biker's Run..........................

Hi Wings...yes, it was a fun ride...I usually ride like an old man but I happen upon three "young'uns" in a hurry and in trying to just keep up, I got to where I needed to be and had fun doing it...=)

Last year I refused to put mine away...down in the lower Husin Valley it wasn't such a bad winter and I did manage to test my metal...a local club has a midnight timed ride in February, come on down and have some fun...

Anyone know when it will be too late to get tickets to Laconia?

MaybE I'll have to do that! The bad part of that is I will have to ride back to the north country and freeze my balls off along the way.

Yu could always join me up here for the next Harley roundavous... lots going on that weekend.

Tickets for Laconia? You mean for the track?

You might want to chaeck out NH real estate for rent, or vacation rentals for the area. We rent a house with 3 other couples for bike week.

Great deal and we love the freedom. The place has a nice garage for the bikes to.

Do your shopping in January and feb for a good choice .
Good luck

My bike mechanic has made Laconia for thirty years and has a room reservation made a year in advance...

...but getting info about the best way for a first time attendie to proceed is lost on him to explain...lol...The web site has a calender of events but that's about it...

....I figure I'll ride up and have the tent strapped to the trunk and make my mistakes like ya'll had to...

Rendezvous is still on my "to do" list though next time I think I'll cut back on all the sex so I can drink more...=)

...any other Patriot Gaurd members out there?...

Okay, if you have the website for the events then all you need is a place to stay.
I stayed at a campgound in Ashland a couple times. Strong security so your stuff is safe. Its a Jellystone Campground so I'm sure you can find it in Google.
Good location being nearby Meradith NH. Rates will be inflated for bike week.
They have cabins but they will be expensive or reserved.
If you go online you should find a place for the week.
Depends if your going the full week to.
Laconia is all about the ride and different events all around going on.
The party place with all the vendors is the Weir's ( Weirs Beach)
The place to ride is the White Mountain Natl Forest. Crawford knotch, Fraconia Knotch , Kangamangus Highway.
There's quite a few campgrounds as well. Your mechanic just reserves before he leaves as lot of folks do. The hotel owners like that cause they know who's staying there. You will find a place I'm sure.
No tickets needed. Lots going on and lots of fantastic riding. The lake the mountains and the parties. It's all there. Thats why I've gone up since I had my 1967 650 Bonneville in 1974... A real "Fonzie" style bike with mini apes and the round mirror and megaphone pipes. I also wore a long ponytail to...
Well if you make it up there drop me a note so we can hook up at the Broken Spke for a cold one and watch the ladies ride the bull...or watch the Biker buildoff.
Good times. good rides. good people.

Thanks Wings, this was exactly what I needed...

I look forward to buying you a drink....I have a few technical questions I think you'll be able to help me out on...;)

Looks like things will dry out for us this weekend, it's good leather weather...<hint>..

Just thought I would mention a couple good places to eat.
On the way up there's a 50's style Diner just off the I93 exit for Laconia,NH
You don't want that exit if your going to Meradith BUT the food is good and we always hit the place for a great sandwich or burger.
HART's Turkey farm!!!!! A must for a great dinner. Do not order the "hearty portion" because they serve your veggies and potatoes on one plate and then bring a full size PLATTER of turkey! Their carrot relish is just out of this world!
The Hart Turkey farm is next to Laconia Harley Davidson.
The dealer puts on a huge event with vendors all over the place. One of the best pin stripers in the country will always be there."Dave Davies" Fantastic work that he can do while your there.
Harley Davidson will set up in the city of Laconia itself. This is south of the Weir's and on the way out to Lauden track.
The "FUN SPOT" is just up the hill from the Weir's.
Theres a large vendor area and just down the road is the Broken Spoke Saloon.
Well I'm sure you will find your way once you get there.
Enjoy and I'll be looking to have a cold one with ya

...ya know Wings....you should write reviews...you missed your call'in...=)

Thanks for the info...I copied it and will carry this with me...

...whew....the milled roads of western CT are especially bad for bikes...

I hope they cover them up soon...the only thing worse than trying to steer and stay up on a freshly milled road is trying to do it at a high rate of speed...=(

Hey all

Great ridin weather here at the moment (Not all of Oz has been hit by the cyclone)hope you guys get to put your rear on a seat and hit the road

Hey Webbo... Long time no see...
No riding for a bit yet here... received 10 inches of snow last night... and tomorrow's high temps wont be above 15F.... Tough time to ride right now!

Glad you are enjoying it over there.. .Was wondering how everything was.

Take care/ talk soon.

Hey team

well it's officaly chilly here at the moment -2 to -5 deg C of a morning but up to around the 14 - 16 deg Celcius during the day, so still plenty of time to get some great riding in

Hope you are all getting some ride time in

Take care

Hey Webbo, Good you got to get it out and play with it.
I've "de" winterized mine and put a fresh battery in it so I'm ready to ride.
Took a week of and all it does is rain! Blame me for the bad weather cause I took time off.

Laconia is around the corner! Just paid my final rent for the house I stay at.

Hotels are nice but getting a house for the week is so much better. This one has a garage so the bike is safe secure and dry on those 4 letter days ( rain)

Seems to be the best bet for my pocketbook to.

This iste seems to be dwindling a little regarding some of the regular crowd that would hang here.
Anyone see or hear from john?

Well stay safe and remember,,, Ride like you never have the "right of way"
Whats the total sq inches of actual contact you have with the road?
If it's 4 sq inches you have an oversize tire... Thats not much contact to stop an 800 pound motorcycle at 50 MPH... Think about it.
