Welcome to Biker’s Run…. :)

My name is Jaded1 and I am a Honda Gold Wing Interstate rider. I thought it would be interesting to see how many other Litizens are Biker’s. This thread is for people that enjoy riding. Whether you ride every day or if you’re just a week end warrior like me this is your thread. It doesn’t make any difference if you’re a Harley rider, Honda rider, Yamaha rider, Suzuki rider and so on. It’s about hitting the open road and enjoying the feeling of freedom. Getting the opportunity to find a ridden buddy and heading out for a bike run.

One of the benefits of are hobby is that we get to see a lot of the real America. There are many very scenic trips we have all ridden that we can now share on this thread.

There are many events for good cause that we all support. If there is an event in your area post it here on are thread. Perhaps you can pick up additional riders from the thread to support your cause.

Planning a trip and not familiar with the area. Ask a thread member on the thread in the area about hotels in the area. Good places to eat.

Now I ask you who isn’t up for a good poker run… ;) Post a announcement here.

Having a running problem with your iron horse? Ask the thread! Perhaps someone else has experienced the very same problem and figured it out.

This is a thread for bikers by bikers…. :)

“Rider’s up… :D

**bump** by someone who's itching to join your ranks as soon as possible, but that's a story in itself.

Can't wait to see what happens with this thread.

:)

Tuesday, September 5th......

Good evening, everyone... :)

Well day one is down for my work week... :) It's is starting to rain again here in Connecticut again. Just as long as the week end is dry. I want to go out riding this week end. Sorry but I'm not a hard core biker that rides in all weather conditions.

Raidho be patient my friend. I only started riding again this year. I gave up my first street bike after my divorce. I was a single Dad and raised two beautiful kids. Would do it all over again if I had too. Your time will come... :D

Hi Jaded

Just another bump from a UK biker, on a BMW GS Adventure.

I know there's a few other bike riders out there, so just keep bumping.....

My thought for the day - every car driver should be made to ride a bike to make them much more aware of vulnerable we are with nothing but 5mm of leather between out skin and the road. No steel cage, no airbags, no seatbelt.
Not having those things sure make me pay a lot more attention to the vehicles around me.
Won't see many bikers drinking coffee and reading the paper while commuting!

You won't see many other bikers talking on a cell phone and driving either.

Honda 1800 VTX here for now, I am still a passenger. But I do the navigating hotel rooms, and all the planning for now. Hopefully not for much longer.

Wednesday, September 6th.......

Good morning, everyone... :)

Good to see other appearing.... ;)

Denali I most definitely agree with you about riding safe. Never had any of my buddy's riding down the road putting on eye make up or lipstick...

I have leg/engine bars in the front to protect me if I go down and leg bars behind me for my passenger. I ride day or night with all light on I want to be as visible as possible. There are a lot of car drivers out on the road with their heads up their ass. I live in a very rural area so I don't have all the traffic congestion... :D I'm just lucky.

MissingMeds, congratulations you're the threads first biker chic... ;) It's not a matter of being either a matter a rider or a passenger it's about enjoying the freedom. Wish you the best on getting your bike. It took me 30 years to get my bike back. Raising my kids had a higher priority.

I am getting ready for fall riding. New England is beautiful with it's rolling hills and the foliage changes. My bike is water cooled. I am going to look into installing a heated seat to extend my riding season. We have a toys for tots run in December. I am considering doing that run this year.

Well have to get ready for work. Want to wish one and all a super great day... :D

FZ1 rider from the UK
Only a biker can understand my user ID & yes it bloody hurt.
Only a biker can understand the therapeutic effect of riding a motorcycle.

Highsided I have to agree with you. I find it difficult to explain myself. I recommend if given the chance to get away for a long week end on a bike go for it. I won't say it's for everyone. But it is a incredible feeling touring down a windy open road. I love the feeling after a days riding of falling into bed and going right out from being outside enjoying myself. Then waking up and starting back out the next day wearing a smile. If anyone has a job opportunity out there to do it I want to submit a application... :)

OK want to take this time to welcome are new thread members hdlynnette and highside. Welcome to the Biker's run thread. Have lots of fun and enjoy yourself. When here your always among friends... :D

Just found this thread and thought I'd join in.
I have a Suzuki V-Strom, 1000cc. MrsJ and I love hitting the road for the weekends, especially now that all the kids are out of the house.

I hope you don't think I'm trying to take anything away from your thread, thats not my intentions, but I have a thread in AM pics very similar to this one with lots of pics of different events and rides.

Some of us are trying arrange a Lit. ride next week at this event

I'll let everyone know about this thread so we can all share info and stories.

I live in a suburb of Washington DC, so I get to the cell phone users, electric razor users, etc., everyday. Thats why I love the HOV lane.

Hi, JoeJ... :)

Trust me my friend I think we both have simular goals and that is to share information concerning different up coming events. To bring together every one that enjoys being up on two wheels. To me what you ride isn't as important as that you ride. We were discussing early the feeling cruising down a open road on two wheels. I can't explain the feeling and neither can highsided. I know I love the feeling.

As far as the ride next week is concerned I am finishing up scraping and repainting the house over the next couple of weeks. Trying to get done before the fall New England foliage season tours. Have a great ride and ride safe. Say hello to the beautiful MrsJ for ol'e Jaded... ;)

Welcome to Biker's Run. Have lots of fun and enjoy your stay. Your always among friends here.... :D

Well gang I think I'm gonna call it a night. Tomorrow is another work day for me. Good night to all.... :D

Thanks for the welcome, and we do share the same goals, sharing the love of the ride.
Good luck with the paint job, I'll be thinking about as I ride up and down the coast.

I have in my time covered a vast amount of European roads, spending many hours riding my trusty metal steed. Those times of isolation with just my thoughts and the open road have been the most stress free times I have ever had. There have also been times when I have gotten off the bike a shaking gibbering wreck for the ride has been so intense that I am riding an emotional and physical high.
There have also been some very sad lows, lows that almost made me quit. Lows that still fill me with sadness. There have also been some accidents, all of which have been my fault for not reading the situation better. That is why I now get retrained every year, just to keep that knowledge, that awareness up to its peak. I am probably boring you silly at this moment so I will stop now.

Thursday, September 7th.....

Good morning, everyone.... :)

It's a chilly morning here in the small New England town of Woodbury, CT. There is a heavy fog covering the plush green valley.

Highsided unfortunately there is a lot more traffic out there on the roads today. When combined with the stress people are experiencing today it surfaces in the form of road rage. When every you pit a bike against a car the rider of the bike will loose. The driver of the car does have a full metal cage surround them. We do have to be very aware what is a round us.

Well gang have to get ready for work. Want to wish everyone a super great day... :D

I think all car drivers should be made to ride a motorcycle for at least one month. They can then fully understand how fragile and fascinating owning a motorcycle is.

Or at least go through a weekend class. One of the women in my MSF class was doing it because her husband insisted she take the class just to make her a better passenger. She failed the class, but she now has a whole new outlook about how she thinks and reacts to bikes. She was used to sitting on the back and enjoying the ride, never giving a 2nd thought about what her husband had to deal with as the operater of the bike.
The class opened her mind and eyes.

Friday, September 8th...............

Good morning, everyone... :)

Woohoo it's Friday... :nana: I have got to get through today and it's the week end. I will be working both Saturday and Sunday scraping and repainting the house. The sooner I get that done then the quicker I will be able to enjoy the fall riding season... ;)

I am going to post the information pertaining to a weekly bike show here in Connecticut for those interested in shows over the week end.

Well I have to start getting ready for work. Want to wish everyone a super great Friday... :D
