In his address to the nation from the White House on the one-year anniversary of the coronavirus shutdowns, President Joe Biden claimed:

"I’ve told you before, I carry a card in my pocket with the number of Americans who have died from COVID to date. It’s on the back of my schedule. As of now, total deaths in America, 527,726. That’s more deaths than in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam war and 9/11 combined. They were husbands, wives, sons, and daughters, grandparents, friends, neighbors, young and old."

As noted by the Congressional Research Service dataset, service deaths for the three wars combined—including fatalities not directly from battle—totals to 580,135. Adding 9/11 terror attack deaths brings the total to 583,112—more than COVID deaths.

  • World War I: 116,516
  • World War II: 405,399
  • Vietnam: 58,220
  • 9/11: 2,977

You seem to be having trouble stepping up to your loser status. :)

I can't be arsed checking your stats but I guess you can quibble over a difference if 50K in the total.

But the gob smacking fact is that in the last 12 months there have been as many unnecessary American deaths from Covid 19 as there has been deaths in the major wars that USA participated in over the last 100 years!.

Thats 500000+ people who, but for mismanagement of Covid 19, most likely should have been alive today.

I would guess the Trumpettes would just not want to bring this topic up--but I also understand that Trumpettes aren't very bright to begin with.

How many fall victim to the DNC rewrite of history?

World War II was the deadliest military conflict in history. An estimated total of 70–85 million people perished, or about 3% of the 1940 world population (est. 2.3 billion). Deaths directly caused by the war (including military and civilians fatalities) are estimated at 50–56 million, with an additional estimated 19–28 million deaths from war-related disease and famine. Civilian deaths totaled 50–55 million. Military deaths from all causes totaled 21–25 million, including deaths in captivity of about 5 million prisoners of war. More than half of the total number of casualties are accounted for by the dead of the Republic of China and of the Soviet Union. The tables below give a detailed country-by-country count of human losses.

Yes, it was a world war. Your point?

Glad to see you reading. Even Wikipedia gets a few things right. The major thing to remember about WWII is that all of those deaths were a direct result of fascism, every single one of them.

With regard to the topic of this thread, the issue is deaths of USA citizens, not everyone in the world.

But keep reading and learning.

The White House clarified that the numbers were American combat deaths, presumably with 9/11 thrown in.

The figures quoted by the source includes deaths not due to combat. The source also claimed Biden was wrong about what Trump did in regard to covid19. Trump knew at the very least in January 2020 about how dangerous covid19 was. He was interviewed by a noted presidential historian, Bob Woodward around February 7th, 2020 at which time Trump was recorded saying covid19 was really dangerous. It's possible Trump may have known how dangerous covid19 was in either November or December as we had a scientist at Wuhan.

We did? A scientist at Wuhan? A Trump admin scientist at Wuhan, well. And he let Trump know that this virus existed in China, hm. What could Trump have told this scientist to do about the virus in China? And how exactly did that virus escape from the lab?

There is a bit of a difference in that deaths by war are pretty clean-cut,
the purview of the young and healthy whereas deaths by Covid are a bit
less clear cut with it often taking the most vulnerable as a contributing
condition. The stats on war deaths are very solid and the deaths
attributed to Covid, not so much; a fair number would have died
in the timeframe with or without the Covid diagnosis.

In this light, you cannot make the absolute claim that you have.

What an absolute crock of shit!!!!

What deaths are necessary? Be VERY specific in your answer. If you can't answer that question then your hyperbolic assertion is without merit.

No, they are not. The article linked says so
including fatalities not directly from battle

Are you hung over?

Still drunk.

In the beginning, deaths are necessary to determine the cause of the infection and work on a solution.

Yes I can.
