Bi women in Texas

I have had a hard time finding Bi women in my area. I did find a group on yahoo that I got sort of involved in But they turned out to be very clique-ish and liked to start trouble and had a hard time letting new people in. I don't know many people (I live in a small town) and i don't know any Bi women my age. How do I go about meeting new women. I'm not one for going to a club by myself.

I think the answer to meeting bi women has to be the same as in meeting anyone. You have to go where they are. That can be physically - search on a lesbian spot in Dallas or Houston or Austin - or some form of communication, probably the internet. That can be through a personal ad, joining a community, calling a lesbian gay hotline in a big city, talking to the only open woman you know, etc. Just find any way you can to meet people. The main problems are usually 1) fear and 2) desire to be anonymous or discreet. We all have issue 1. Issue 2 can be negotiated. Let's say you aren't ready to have your pic up on a personals site. Put up a personal with a note saying why there is no pic. You can also try some of the lesbian and bi community sites like Lesbianation or whatever.

If you really have no idea where to start (and I don't mean that badly; that's how we almost always begin) try hooking in with a big city official lesbian community and start meeting people and asking for advice. There have to be gay guides to Texas or one of the huge cities that you can get info from. So just be creative. Even do a blog search for lesbian and Texas or something and see if any thing comes up. Maybe you will be able to talk to them. Or maybe you will just read the blogs and pick up something useful.

Hope this helps a little. I know you were looking for bi and I mentioned lesbian a lot. I basically assumed you were looking for a woman who dates other women, so that either will work just fine. If it is important that she actually be bi, so that she can date you and a guy at once, then you will have to change the strategies a bit, but it's the same idea.

I guess I think your Yahoo group was a great idea. You might just have to give up on that one group and move to the next one. If you can even find a single person to chat with from that group, that would be great. From her, you can maybe find more people.
