Best way to begin...

If I ever decide on a signature line 'twill be...

Better to try and fail than to never try at all.

The good news is that BDSM is a little less emphatic about pretty young things. Even the hetero crowd. You'll find plenty of women your age enthusiastically playing, if you seek out your local groups. For which fetlife.com may be your friend. :rose:

A couple years ago I attended a bdsm-y event that was all about dressing the part. Some truly amazing costumes and such. My favorite, bar none, was the fishnet body suit on a woman who was clearly in her 70s. Now that is a woman who is comfortable in her own skin.

My question is this- How do you begin upon a journey you've never been secure enough to take? More importantly how do you not?

In this case - you read some non-fiction books about the subject to educate yourself. There are lots of threads about them. Look in the stickies at the top of the forum. You TALK to people about their experiences. You make friends, you network. Take what Stella said - it's good advice.

Is there such a thing as being too old to embrace who you are and be the submissive you were born to be?

No. You are never too old to stop pretending to be someone you are not, and to start living as who you are.

Where is my Master and how do I find him?
You make friends. You network. You get out from behind the computer and get involved with your community. You talk to people. They talk to people. You get introduced. It happens when it happens.

Good luck!

My question is this- How do you begin upon a journey you've never been secure enough to take? More importantly how do you not? When every cell in your body has always begged for more, and you've deprived it, and yourself. Is there such a thing as being too old to embrace who you are and be the submissive you were born to be? Where is my Master and how do I find him?

Find local groups, go to meetings and munches, and make friends!

I think you've started your journey by recognizing how you feel and acknowledging that you want to take the next step. As others have said read, read, read and read some more about what interests you; jump in on discussions too! Seek out local groups (munches) to meet others that are like-minded.

You're never too old to be honest with yourself and embrace who you are. :rose:

I'm wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking.
