The OP clearly identifies it as an individual "best," I think. I think it's great when posters lift up individual stories/authors they (individually, as with this thread) want to highlight.

OP also left his argument unsupported. Hence my throwing some food for thought out to encourage (s)he or others to define what "best" means to them as it is a W I D E spectrum.

Most of us do lift up our fellow authors but the equivalent of "loved it" does only so much for us (even if we are grateful for the exchange)

Chloe is a great writer, but I'm not going to read 57k words to test your point. As the others say, your idea of "best" is someone else's "mediocre", and the next guy's "meh". There can be no "best" sex - except for the stuff you write yourself, obviously .

Well, my list was intended to be representative, not complete, but I was not aware of that, so that's good to know. My interests have always tended toward insects and birds, not cephalopods.
