Those who named various big acts like The Eagles (folk rolk) or Cream (cool, but they had like 4 albums, sorry) and Journey (sorry, but those fruits should have been shot)...well, they forgot we're talking about "Rock" music here.

Roxy Music would be more prog than straight rock....you could hardly call the Avalon album rock...though it's great to get naked to.

Wings was ostensibly a rock band, and while I think I can still recite the entire Band On The Run album...is Mamunia a rock tune???

Fro what it's worth, Gonzo journalist and former Rolling Stone correspondent Hunter S. Thjompson wrote in one of his books that, on a good night, The Doors were the greatest rock band and live act of all time. I think he may be right.

I like how they use Bubbles and the Trailer Park Boys in the latest vid.

The Hip started out as a Stones tribute band.

I love their hockey sweaters and wish I knew where to buy one.

I drank beers and smoked joints all nite with them one time but didn't know it was them.

But they are not one of the best rock bands ever, man.

It's strictly a matter of semantics, but I don't consider Fleetwood Mac or The Eagles as "rock" bands.
Good bands, though. And if I was picking, I'd say "Rumours" by FM and "Desperado" by The Eagles were their best efforts.
