What is the best software I can get to track my personal budget? I hate Microsoft Money, it just isn't user-friendly for me. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Acemoney Lite.

Quicken is easy.

AceMoney Lite is free.
Haven't used it myself, but I trust the ratings of that download site, and they give it 5 stars out of 5. It's also spyware free, as I trust snapfiles for that, too. There's a lot of download sites I don't trust, but that's not one of them.
Give it a shot, and tell us if you like it or not.

I just downloaded and looked thru it. It is a simple and easy program and the free part is great! It's definitely worth a look (no pun intended on worth). I like the ease and the verbage is more 'secular' (ie. not accountant like - we can mess anything up). I'm only mentioning this as it's my business - accounting and books.

cd1 you are a wealth of information/download/tech help. I'm going to look through the other items available there. I'm so glad you've joined us here. :)

You can't mess stuff up as bad as lawyers. :p

Glad to help. Now if only I could somehow find out how to get all the Litsters who feel that way and are from my hometown to come use my business, without the possibility of non-Litsters figuring out I'm on here. Maybe I'm just being paranoid......

Maybe a how to thread on marketing will be helpful.

I appreciate the help. I think I'll dig out that USB thingie soon - thanks.

It seems okay to me, I downloaded it. The only frustrating thing is not being able to track more than one bank account unless I upgrade. :( It looks pretty idiotproof although I'm sure I'll mess it up. I do all my banking in my head for some reason, but I really want to start doing it on paper just to make sure I use my money to the best of my ability and don't overspend on stupid stuff. And I really suck at putting on paper! Thanks for the link! I'll update if it works after a week or so.

Just curious, what's your problem with Microsoft Money?

I just can't get it to turn out right. I tried to put in a spending history from a month prior to when I started, and I tried to get the categories right, and I got the dates wrong, and I got the stuff in the wrong box, and it's all really embarassing to admit because I normally use more than two brain cells at a time, I swear! I'm just really bad at budgeting on paper. I never overdraw, and I always have a really close estimate of how much money I have (to within about $20 give or take), but I want to see if by putting it on paper I can save a few extra dollars here and there- enough to make a small difference.
