Bernie!

Presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton in dead heat nationally: poll

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has erased Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s wide lead for the Democratic presidential nomination since the start of year, putting the two in a dead heat nationally, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Clinton leads Sanders 48 percent to 45 percent among Democratic voters, according to the poll of 512 Americans, conducted Feb. 2-5 following the Iowa caucus. The poll has a credibility interval of 5 percentage points.

Democrats had been supporting Clinton by more than a 2-to-1 margin at the beginning of the year. Sanders has narrowed that lead considerably over the past several weeks.

Is this the beginning of the end for Hillz? I hope so.

I do no wish to be a pretty pony. Being a draconequis or as is the proper term Kirin (dunno why they didn't use it. It's easier to pronounce, real, fits with the multicultural theme they occasionally push with (though perhaps THAT is the reason. Having Chinese mythology effectively invade European Mythology could be viewed poorly. Especially since Kirin were not by definition evil but whatevs.)

That is what he asked for tonight. It was funny because they have a "$27.00" option on a website and he keeps talking about the $27 donation. I gave him $100 when he tied in Iowa.

:p

I know. I've given varying amounts since he announced his candidacy, but the other day I also chose the $27. option. All in all I've given about $300. so far and will continue to give every month.

I'm glad you're supporting him! :)

Any reason for that weirdly specific number?

Dems should be pissued off

Hillary loses big, but gets more delegates than Bernie. In NH. Because of committed super delegates. What a fucking joke!

Hey, maybe they'll "uncommit" when he wins more and more and the people are outraged by the thought that delegates actually committed to a candidate before a fucking election??

Those super delegates are not really all that committed, and they could change their minds.

Those are party people, steeped in the backgrounds of the various candidates. It's a party function, so I see no reason why those doing the work of the party can't have a "more than equal" say in what candidate they are going to continue putting out work for. They certainly know more about the relative merits and electability of the candidates their party could run than a preponderance of the "only there on Tuesday" voters do.

Sanders is pro communists in most of his platform. If you ask any of his followers what he really stands for and how he will pay for "free shinny things" they can't give you an answer. Most Americans have no real idea what socialism is. But if it has free attached to it then it must be good. So if we do make income equal to all people like they do in a communists state (which is a lie of course. They have two classes in every dictator ship the elite who live like royalty - look at Lil Kim in N. K. and the leaders of China and even Russia - who by the way is one of the richest men in the world - and the working or slave class with no rights, no protection, etc.) everyone is poor. All people being poor is equal I guess.

If a college student is for Sanders ask them why then are you going to college? It can't be to learn a trade that will help you make money and support a family. If you don't believe in working your way to the top of a profession than why are you in school? The state will decide what you are best used for and will appoint you a position even if you don't like it. That is not important. What is important is that the leaders will make all the decisions on your life and they will get rich and you will work (or slave) for them. As for imperialism, what do you think the Communists are? They have colonies all over the world just like the old 17th and 18th century had. The leaders of those colonies owe their loyalty to China, Russia, or Iran, etc. and not to their own people.

Sanders is making deals with the same people who put Obama in office. The same corrupt people like Sharpton. The government runs the business world not the owners or workers. He talks up racism in hope of getting votes, but isn't that racists when you tell people that they are not the same as other people of different colors. I thought the blacks rose up during the civil war to put the slave leaders down and seek their freedom. Now they sell themselves out to the very people who still treat them as unequal.

The so called feminists don't back the female of the Republican party or speak out against Buba Clinton for his crimes against women or tell how Hillary didn't pay her people equal as men or that she sees nothing wrong in setting slavers and murders of women and children lose from the POW camp in Cuba.

What we need is a real Democrat to run for office and not a slave candidate or communists progressive. One who will listen to the people and fight for the Constitution. Sanders is not that man nor is H. Clinton or Donald the Lip.

Oh, Lord, Sanders isn't a communist. Even those claiming to be communists today aren't. Sanders is a democratic socialist, meaning he supports society-as-priority programs arrived at by the democratic process. It's hard to take your rants seriously when you exaggerate so.

I have limits on how much socialism I want, and Sander's stated goals exceed those, but I don't give him a chance in hell of arriving at the extreme (or even the mild) ones through the democratic process in the United States, so I'm not going to be having the aneurism that you obviously are. I suppose if you're in the top 1 percent he bangs on, you might have a worry, but you don't write like you are.

Any reason for that weirdly specific number?

The Bern loves his donor ratio. The average contribution per donor is $27.00. So his website has "$27.00" as an option. It is just a way of communicating that he gets 100 donors for every 1 donor of the other candidates. It also makes supporting him very realistic and I think serves to bring him closer to the electorate and adds to his man of the people appeal.

I happen to think the $27.00 is a tongue-in-cheek joke for the Bernie campaign because $2,700 is the individual campaign donation cap for a federal campaign. And since Bernie gets 100 donors for Hillary's 1 donor it speaks volums to her "talk" and his "reality". I suspect they are loading the ammunition on this one for the next FEC filing. I would if I were them. And I would hit her with it like a fucking bat in the next debate.

So, it is not such a weird number :)

Sr71 look at his platform more closely. Oh as far as the $27 bit is most of his supporters on here have stated that they have sent more than that to him. They are not limited to a set amount for any politician like any citizen so I believe that Sanders uses that number as a request and an average, but he does take money from other supporters that are not individuals just as they all do.
Sr71 why do you always use insults rather than facts to back up your views? I am sure you are more educated than that.

Sorry, you relate nothing to him being a communist. I don't think you have any idea what a communist is. You're just kneejerking hate and prejudice. You're all rant. No substance. And I increasingly think you're just an alt of another of the same.

Don't expect me to bite on your personal attacks.

You have not the slightest clue about what you think you are talking about.

Imagine the time you could have saved not writing that. You could have, like, made a nice cup of roobios tea, watched a classic Red Dwarf episode, or jerked off.
